Previously known as Truth91920. (I finally got sick of the stupid name)
Er, about me.
I like to read, I like playing video games, and I collect mermaids.
My favorite book (series) is Harry Potter, gasp, and my favorite author is Stephan King (my favorites of his books are The Shining, It, and Insomnia). My favorite video game is Kingdom Hearts.
And my favorite superhero is Batman! /random
I read all types of HP fic--romance, action, crossovers (my favorite!), dark!fic, all that good stuff. :)
I read just about every pairing (be it het or slash), too, but my favorites are:
Harry/Crossover Character faves:
Harry/Clark(Superman Comics/Movies) (Romantic, or Platonic, actually. I read one where they were brothers, and it was so touching, how they both felt about having family! I'd love more like that!)
Harry/Clark(Smallville) (Just Romantic, oddly. I find the ones where they're brothers or cousins boring, which is odd considering the line above this one...)
Harry/YYH (I love YYH. I don't care if he's paired with someone or not, if it's a YYH crossover, I will read it. Lol. Though I do like Harry/Kurama)
Harry/Edward (Yes. Twilight. They're addictive, what can I say? :( I can't help it! )
Harry/Other character from Twilight (Seriously, HP/Twilight crossovers shouldn't be so addicting, what gives? I must say, though, I'm pretty irritated at the "standard" Twilight crossover. I'm sure you know what I mean. The one where (*ahem*) OMG, Harry was betraaaaayed by everyone in England, WOE, so he RANDOMLY (lol) decided to go to Forks, Washington! Hurray! And then, when he gets there, his first day is just like BELLA'S first day was, isn't that STRANGE?? I mean, who knew that he'd be sitting with this nice girl and then this MEAN BITCHY GIRL WHO THINKS SHE'S ALL THAT, BUT SHE'S NOT, and then BAM in come this group of ~orgasmically~ beautiful people that he might or might not know on site are vampires! Weird, right? So, ANYWAY, after he learns about them, he gets mad at the bitchy chick and STORMS off earning all the Cullen's (aside from Rosalie, because she's a BITCH too!) resepct! W00t! So THEN he goes to class and it turns out that it's BIOLOGY! And he has to sit with EDWARD~!!! GASP! Awesome, right? WRONG! Cause his blood CALLS to Edward!!!! And Edward wants to EAT HIM! Usually as a meal, but sometimes the OTHER WAY BECAUSE OMG MATES!!!! And the're no explanation of where Bella is, because who cares! But sometimes there IS an explanation, and it's that she's a HUMONGOUS BITCH OMG! WHO THREW AWAY EDWARD AND IS NOW WITH JACOB! OMG THAT WHORE! Right??? Or Bella just doesn't exist at all, and, get this, HARRY (HARRISON) TAKES BELLA'S PLACE! What? What a cop ou--Wonderful Idea! :D And, by the way, Harry is BEAUUUUUUTIFUL! He has loooong, waavy black hair, HUGE EMERALD EYES (ow), and he's really short! He's so pretty, people think he's a girl! And it's hilaaaaarious because when they do, Harry gets irritated, and then they say something along the lines of "Awww, kitten's got claws!" or whatever, and then Harry pouts cutely! :D. Oh! Oh! And Harry has A POSSE of people from England! Draco Malfoy, Luna Lovegood, Neville Longbottom (sometimes), along with Severus Snape or Sirius Black and Remus Lupin as the "adults"! Whoo! What a likely bunch of people to be in a group! Whee! That one. Yeah, I don't know if you can tell, but I really hate that type of fic. Ironically, the first HP/Twilight fic I read was one where all the characters (aside from the Cullens, naturally) were replaced by HP characters. Yeah. I do sort of like it, since the characters borrowing the HP names seem to be their own characters, instead of the ones from Twilight with new names, but it's still irritating as hell. I find these sort of cliches all the time, and it's so DUMB! I really prefer fics that actually come up with something new, for some reason. I'd be interested in reading more Het pair-ups between HP and Twilight, too. I've only seen one HP/Bella fic, and it was okay. Not the best, but not the worst, and it was a new concept, at least! :)
Harry/Yugi/Yami (I've actually only come across one fic of this threesome, but it's amazing! I really enjoyed reading it, and actually managed to read a couple of the updates before I had to stop and wait for more chapters! That's how much this fic stuck in my mind. XD It's "King's Jackal", by esama. You should check it out, if you're interested in this match up!)
Harry/Mori (from Ouran High School Host Club) (I got addicted to this pairing thanks to Stalker of Stories. She's a great author, check her stuff out! :) )
Harry/other members from the Host Club (Unlike with Harry/Mori, I haven't fallen in love with another pairing from this crossover type. I do enjoy reading them, though! On a related note, I've never read a Haruhi/Harry paring fic. I'd love to do so, though! It'd be interesting to see what happened. :) )
Spiderman/Iron Man (I know what you're thinking. She reads stuff OTHER than HP fics?!?!?! What? It's true! I venture outside of the HP world sometimes. Crazy, right? :P For whatever reason I stumbled across a couple of fics of this pairing and fell in love with it. There need to be more, that's all I'm saying. ;) )
List of Crossovers in general that I like:
HP/Death Note: I've found a couple Harry/L fics that I've really enjoyed, and I'd like to see more (good ones).
HP/Charmed: I like both Pairing fics, and Gen fics, honestly. I'd actually like to see more Gen ones. :)
HP/Ranma 1/2: I really just like Gen fics for this, honestly. Harry/Ranma isn't a pairing I could wrap my head around, honestly. It'd be interesting to see him paired up with someone else, though. But I never see anything like that, so the point is moot. :)
HP/Batman: As noted above, Batman is my favorite superhero. However, like with Harry/Ranma, Harry/Bruce (Batman) is a pairing I can't really wrap my head around. However, I love the gen fics I've come across. However, all this crack!fic (and the serious ones) need to stop with the Snape/Batman pairing. That's just wrong. I know that Batman hasn't always chosen saintly people to go out with, but they've at least never abused children, unlike Snape. Batman would put Snape behind bars, not date him. Urrrrgh. For whatever reason, that pairing just gets my dander up. :(
HP/Marvel: Yeah...mostly X-men, but I like Ironman, Spiderman, and would love to see others. I found a Fantastic Four crossover that I liked (once), and I'm reading one now that involves Thor. Also, Dr. Strange. Only seen one or two fics with him, though.
HP/DC: Didn't see that coming, right? ;P I love Justice League fics, heh. Most of the DC fics I've read have involved large numbers of superheroes, actually, so I just count those as JL (even though I probably shouldn't). I'd love to come across more. :)
HP/YYH: I can't say this enough, I LOVE HP/YYH. Looooove.
HP/Kyou Kara Maou: I've stumbled across a few fics that I liked, I wish there were more. :)
HP/Random: Really, I love crossovers. Chances are, if it's a crossover, and it isn't a show or whatever that I'm sick of (like Naruto), I'll give it a chance, unless the summary is horrible. :)
Sailor Moon/Ranma 1/2: I know, cliche, but I love these crossovers just the same. How can you not? I'm a really big fan of the Usagi/Ranma pairing, which I find odd since I love Usagi/Mamoru together. *shrug*
Pairings I avoid:
Yeah...I read just about any pairing aside from H/G, although if the author is one of my favorites I'll read it. I do try and avoid fics where he is with Hagrid, or Wormtail, or other people like that, but those fics are usually not serious. I...really hope I don't come across a fic that actually tries to make Harry/Wormtail work. o_O
Note: If you're an author who has a story that I've reviewed once, but haven't reviewed since you've updated it, never fear! I haven't lost interest in your story, I just like to build up chapters to read. I started this habit when I realised that people took a long time* to update sometimes, and I'd forgotten what happened in the story that was already up. So then, I'd need to reread the whole story to refresh myself (I have a bad memory, and I read a LOT of fanfiction. A. Lot.), right? But of course, there would be another chapter after the one I just read, and another after that, and so on. Naturally, rereading the story so many times usually left me burnt out on it. So, I decided to wait for the whole story to be finished! This has led to, at last count, 8 pages of alerts in my inbox, some as old as 2006. So, nope, I haven't lost interest! I'm merely waiting for more chapters to read. ;) I've felt kind of bad about reviewing once, and then basically not reviewing until the end of the story, so I finally decided to put on my profile why. Hope it cleared things up for anyone who was wondering! :)
Given that I have a pretty bad memory, this actually means about two weeks. Sometimes I can remember a story pretty well, but mostly not. It gets kind of irritating, actually, because then I "find" the story again, and reread it, only to realize that I've already read it! What a waste of time, since this happens a lot with stories that haven't been updated since the last time I read them. :(
