Basic Information:

I have been writing fanfiction for about six years, starting with Fullmetal Alchemist and Inuyasha. I tried writing original stories before that; I’ll be the first to admit they was crap. My characters were about as interesting as oatmeal, my plots lukewarm at best. At that point in my life, I didn’t have the attention span to sit and develop real characters and stories behind them, and really, where could they go if I didn’t know where they had been?

That was when I found fanfiction.net, and I thought, “Sure, I could do that.” So I sat down and started writing one, had my own character interacting with the original ones, plot twists and turns, and at the end of the day, it was still crap. But I posted it, because I was so young and proud of it. Needless to say, though the first few reviews were more or less positive, when that one rolled in to break that reality. The reviewer listed to me how one single line that I’d made an original character say went against common sense. But she told me I had potential, and that has made all the difference. I stepped back, and looked at it, and scrapped the whole story and started from the beginning.

That was just over five years ago, and I still take that to heart. By writing fanfiction, I’ve learned that, when you know your characters and their stories, what they do and say becomes obvious, and I’m just the tool that writes them down. Reading, as well as writing, on fanfiction.net has helped me immeasurably. I’ve made friends, I’ve strengthened my style, and I’ve grown as a writer. I learned how to connect with the characters from my fanfictions, how to let them lead me in their stories. Fanfiction made me stronger.

Fanfiction and Other Works:

Cavalcade: a Kingdom Hearts Fanfiction
The only active work I currently have. This is based in something like an alternate universe, which is neither ours nor the game's original, but meets somewhere in the middle. Key highlights: Axel is a tattoo artists, Roxas is a former Gummi Pilot, and Demyx is a fucking BADASS. Appearances include the original trio, kids from Twilight Town, the Nobodies, Final Fantasy members, et al. Updates fairly regularly, about every two weeks.

Also attached to this fic is a corresponding blog on tumblr! This is a place where I post my favorite excerpts from each chapter, as well as more notes than I feel like are appropriate for (such as notes between updates, influences). I will also be posting a preview of each chapter the week before it's posted, with a note from me talking about it and an image highlighting a couple of ket elements for the upcoming chapter.
