I love to write. That is apparent from the hundreds of stories I have written so far. Even I can't believe how many stories I've written! But I also love to read and I've never really been able to balance both the way "normal" people do. And so I've decided to try to be better at balancing the two. What that means is that I won't be writing as much as I was (or at least I'm not planning to, but I've said that before and it never seems to work out that way; writing is in my blood!) So, that being said, I'm not going to give up writing entirely. I've tried that before and it absolutely does not work because practically everything and anything I watch or do will spark some sort of idea for a story. I have a notebook that I keep in case inspiration strikes somewhere and I write in it almost every day, so that will always stay with me, and I'll keep adding to it.
However, I'm not actively planning on writing any new stories nor updating any major ones and focus instead on the many, many books I have on my long reading list. Of course there will be the occasional story that just will not let go and has to be written or continued, but I'm guessing there won't be too many of those for a while. Since I know that I won't be able to go for an extended length of time without writing anything whatsoever, I've made a compromise. Below you'll find a list of stories that I'm planning on working on exclusively. The others are on hiatus until further notice, unless I get the motivation to update them, which could very well happen. But rest-assured that I do plan finishing them all, no matter how long it takes. And I have some longer Frasier ones (Two of which are quite different than anything I've written before) in the works, that are not yet written. But for now, the ones listed below are the ones that I plan on continuing during my hiatus...
"Sheltered Secrets"-Yes, I know... This is my completely rewritten version of a story that was written in 2013-2014 and was never finished. It's been my favorite story to work on by far and I'm very proud of it.Very appropriate that I chose it as my 400th and I can't wait to start on my 500th! I am sorry that I have neglected it for SO long (work, life and other things got in the way), but I PROMISE it WILL be finished! I already know how it's going to end, so it's just a matter of getting motivated enough to write something that will tie it all together nicely. Thank you to everyone who has sent me PM's and/or reviewed asking when it will finally be finished.
"The Life and Times of Niles Crane"-This is my series of one-shots that I started back in July all centering on Niles Crane. Since the chapters aren't connected in any way and instead each focus on a particular word (similar to "100 Moments" and "Life in the Emerald City", I will be posting more chapters as the ideas come to me.
"When Niles Met Daphne"-This is my 11 story series that centers on Niles and Daphne. Each story represents one season of Frasier and each chapter is centered around an episode; as the chapters alternate between Niles and Daphne's POV's. I didn't realize that this was going to be such an undertaking, but it's been fun to search through every episode and try to come up with something unique (especially if I've seen the episode umpteen times). I just finished "Part 4" and now I have been working on the chapters randomly as I see episodes rather than going in order, so every story has some several chapters that are completely finished. But of course I'm going to post them in order so I hope it will be worth the wait. Part 5 will be posted as soon as I get that season watched and the chapters written.
"Rose Petals" which is my joint effort with Pat2Trivia4Me, Kristen3 and LeighAnn415, will most likely be updated as well. We've been taking turns posting chapters (and I'm grateful to Pat2Trivia4Me who came up with the idea and allowed me to post it on my page. I haven't been good at all about keeping up with it, and it's been my turn for a while so I will do my best to get some chapters written and posted and hand it over to the next person on the list. I do apologize to Pat2Trivia4Me, Kristen3 and LeighAnn415 for the long delay in posting.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and please know that I appreciate every single one of my readers. I LOVE getting reviews the most because it tells me how many people were actually reading them rather than my having to go to the traffic stats. So even if you're apprehensive about writing a guest review please don't be. I appreciate each and every one.
PS: I know I have a lot of readers who hardly ever post reviews and I completely understand that some people don't want to post comments. I sincerely appreciate your reading my stories. But because my time is limited, and I have a ton of stories of my own that I've been working hard to catch up on, please don't send me PM's about a particular story you want me to write unless it's Frasier, the Good Wife or Mad Men. Those are the easiest stories for me to write and the shows that I'm most comfortable writing for. The PM's are flattering, but I don't like feeling'pressured' to write something that I'm not prepared to write. I know I have written stories in a lot of categories but some of them are because a particular episode of a show that I rarely watch sparked an idea. Thank you for your understanding and as always thanks for reading. I appreciate it wholeheartedly.
