Hey people! Point-blank, I'm a formless writer who thrives on reviews. I don't care what the nature is, whether good or bad, sensible or inane, so long as it's a review, I feel motivated like mad to pump out the next chapter for whatever story got it. They keep me going, they show me that someone out there appreciates the untold hours I've put into a chapter to actually take ten seconds out of their own life to let me know it--and I appreciate the hell out of it.
Writing is a deep-rooted passion of mine so realistically speaking, getting no reviews will in no way cause me not to write, but what it will do is delay the posting of a new chapter I've probably had finished for the past three weeks or so, which has happened numerous times. And why? Because lack of motivation.
I have over a dozen original works I'm splitting my time up between, but what I post here, I post for you all. I write for an audience, for others to enjoy my work, or for them to hate it. Either way, I write for an audience, and I want that audience to be a vocal part of the process, giving their views and standing points. If I hear nothing for them it feels like I'm writing for an empty hall, and that to me means no one is interested enough to even leave a few words, which leads to feeling disheartened, which leads to lingering thoughts of 'oh, well, if no one's interested I can just take my time', which, again, I tend to do all the time.
For instance, the first part of AMD, that was ten chapters in the span of a month, four weeks, because those reviews kept driving me to finish it, I knew people were reading and analyzing and expecting and waiting, it was a real adrenaline boost.
If you enjoy my work enough to want to see the next chapter, let me know, so I can place it at the top of my priority list and get it to you as quick as I can!
