11/25/02 Alright, time for a new update -- it's always nice to feel like you're starting fresh every once and a while. I'm still kind of new to fan-fiction, although I'm not quite as new as I was yesterday. I've the old X-Files stuff up simply because it's mine and it's a mark of the old days, along with it I have a few chapter-like epics that I'll detail out below. Some favorites of mine, in terms of fandom, is Blade of the Immortal, the Final Fantasy series, Jhonen Vasquez's works, Chuck Palahniuk's novels, and Six Feet Under. I may not write for all of these categories, but it does not mean that I love any of them less, and I would adore hearing from fellow fans or being sent an occassional link to fan-works that I could adore and wish I had the talent to push out. =P I don't review as much as I should, nor do I seem to give credit to writers who have actually made me bend over my keyboard in tears or gigglefits. There are a lot of -amazing- artists out there, and I urge you to check out my favorites list (it's there for a reason, albeit scantily-clad at the moment... I hope to change that soon). Secondly, in a bout of copy-paste: Thanks to those who have read, thanks to those that will read, and thanks to those maybe-if-I'm-rendered-immoble-and-have-nothing-better-to-do-I'll-read-the-stuff-type-people. There is nothing better than hearing from someone who seems really involved in or enthusiastic about a piece, and from those who seem to keep coming back. You are the ones that I am writing for -- and it is my hope that people, if only in a small fraction, will enjoy reading these works as much as I enjoyed writing them. As for the works, some highlights: "For When You Return" (Final Fantasy VIII) This is one of my favorites, just because I love the satisfaction in writing a larger piece like this. For When You Return is proving to have an extremely epic scope, and I get excited whenever I think about writing it, although I haven't been writing as much as I should. I finally updated again with Chapter 20 (4/26), which is probably the most action-packed arc in the story. Yes, indeed! Action, Adventure, Romancey-Stuff! "When Dreaming Ends" (Blade of the Immortal) This is another chapter-thing, although it probably won't span as much time/length as For When You Return will. Blade of the Immortal is by far my most favorite... actually, I can't even categorize it as a manga in this case, as I'm not a huge manga or comic fan. It's a literary and artistic marvel, in my opinion, and I adore it greatly. Hence, the prospect of writing a story based on Hiroaki Samura's work is almost giddying -- it takes place a little after "The Gathering" and eventually moves to the end of Rin and Manji's tale. Chapter Five, much belated, has been added. (4/14) I finished "First Person Lamer," and may eventually put up a short story from FFVIII. An FFVII novella is possibly in the works. I dunno. I just write stuff.
