I'm Ani-maniac494 - Ani-maniac, because I'm crazy about Anakin from Star Wars, and 494 because it's the designation of my favorite character from Dark Angel, Alec. You might also know me as LaughtersMelody on Live Journal and AO3, and some of the other fan fiction websites. :)

I'm a 36-year-old female who lives somewhere in the Rocky Mountain region of the U.S. I graduated from college with a BA in English and an emphasis in Creative Writing, and I'm currently working on my first original novel.

I started writing fan fiction back in 2005 after I saw Star Wars: Episode: III, and before I knew it, I was hooked, and I’ve been writing ever since. Over time, I’ve learned that fandoms are like potato chips: you can’t have just one…or two…or nine, lol… So, don’t be surprised to see fics from a number of different fandoms, though I tend to go through "moods" where I'm inspired to write for a certain fandom in particular.

In general, my fics often focus on relationships, whether that be friendship, family, or romance, and a good number of them are angst. A few are tragedy - I’m one of those strange people who likes killing off her favorite characters - but I write all different genres, so fluff and humor are there too. When it comes to romance, I usually find a pairing I like and stick to it. As far as main characters, I love to write about sarcastic/tragic heroes.

But, though I love to play in other universes, I am first and foremost a Christian. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, and I try to let that show in everything I write. I don't write or read slash, and I won't write anything rated above T (PG-13).

Here on my profile, I wanted to offer a shout-out to my fabulous beta, LaramieLady51. She is an absolutely fabulous beta, and I'm proud that she is my mom as well as my friend, and sometimes, she is even a fellow fangirl, lol. While I was growing up, she always encouraged my love of storytelling and writing, and it's been so much fun to continue to share that with her as I've grown older. My stories wouldn't be the same without her advice, and I thank her for every moment she has spent reading my stories or letting me bounce ideas off of her.
