Well I haven't updated this in ages so I thought I should.
And now I can't think of a single thing to say...
I'm known as Robin or Robyn to most of my friends, and when it comes to naming characters I'm not very inventive, or at least I wasn't, might be a bit better now.
My favourite story is actually one I helped write, althrough everything on my favourite list is either well written, an interesting story, or hopelessly addictive, sometimes all three. I don't often review, normally only when a story blows me away, makes me curious or annoys me so badly that I cannot read anymore without a great deal of patience, ask Joey, I have no patience. When I do review I tend to babble.
Anyway, onto my favourite story.
Once upon a time when me and my best friend Joey were very young (All of three years ago), and all our stories were locked up in our head, hearts, notebooks and laptops, and Joey asked me to read some of her stories on the net.
I have always been a bookworm, as long as I remember, I loved stories, I loved books, and suddenly I was a poor student without access to all my favourites. The idea being that if I didn't bring the books with me I would actually have to study my text books.
I then became addicted. There's been days where I just had to read one more chapter, one more story, just one more. Luckily I had will power... and only limited access to the internet. I now know how to put a book (or webpage) down. And fanfiction has corrupted me, normal books are now no longer long enough, most of those will only keep me entertained for a few hours, fanfiction has kept me entertained for three years now.
Anyway... the story.
It started with a mary-sue. Me and Joey just didn't know it at the time, we were new at this. So the Mary-sue became Queen of Games, got hired at Kaiba Korps, became part of Yugi's gang (which had mysteriously been reduced to just Yugi and Joey) and Joey had fun writing it and I think that was my first time as a beta.
I tried my hand at a story, (which I hate but don't have the heart to remove.) and when it was finished I didn't feel like posting any of my ideas.
Then Joey decided to try her hand at a crossover, and Yugi, Joey, Kaiba and Kari were off to Hogwarts to join Harry, Ron and Hermione. (I think I forgot Bakura) This is when I started to get more heavily involved, at least to my memory. I'm a half decent beta reader if I do say so myself, but it wasn't long until I was writing scenes here and there, acting as a sounding board for Joey and now Joey says the crossover is as much mine as hers, and now I'm writing Something Wicked, with Joey acting as the beta reader.
I have to admit I love the little story. It'll be fairly short, about 11 or so chapters, but while it has it's own story it also leads into the fourth year at Hogwarts. I wanted to show how disjointed the gang is when they are seperate, how out of tune they can get over a holiday, how different their holidays can be, how different their lives are outside Hogwarts.
Something Wicked also marks the point where we significantly move away from cannon. We made the choice last year when we saw how small choices can have such a massive effect on the rest of the story, no matter how close we tried to stick with cannon events.
Hopefully Kari is no longer a Mary-Sue, althrough she has taken a back seat during my small tale. Little seen up til now cannon chars have also reappeared, hopefully they are bareable, I didn't want to add in more oc's if I could avoid it.
What I'm really looking forward to are the stories we have planned for After The End, as I refer to it. At last count these stories numbered around eight or so, each having it's own major plot points, or idea base planned out. Both me and Joey have written a few scenes of these stories in anticipation, just so you know, we won't be giving up on this series for a long, long time.
Just so you know, the Potter kids are brats. Harry spoilted them rotten, as well as every other child he came into contact with. How Teddy turned out so well I'll never know. (BTW, nothing is fixed in stone until it is posted, but we are having fun imagining.)
