![]() Author has written 10 stories for Zootopia. Greetings all, To start off with, this will be a relatively short bio. These are my first attempts at creative writing, so any creative criticism will be appreciated. My current focus is on Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps from the movie Zootopia. I am of German, Polish and Lakota descent, and my background consists of 28 years in the military in various fields of endeavor and as a CSI for the USDA. My military experiences include, but are not limited to combat engineer, demolition specialist, heavy equipment operator, and field artillery. A few folks have commented on my choice of a pic for my profile. We all struggle with our demons, PTSD is real for millions of vets... My current occupation is with the USDA as a CSI, which encompasses my (current) 30 year career. Hobbies include enjoying my grandkits and great grandkits, shooting, hunting, riding my Harleys and playing bass guitar with my daughter and grandson (they play rhythm and lead). Movie interests include (obviously) military flicks, sci-fi, action/adventure and anime. This includes cartoons and CG as well. As mentioned before, my writing skills are yet to be developed, so please bear with me. I tend to interject many past experiences of my personal and professional life into my stories, I imagine like many writers/authors do. Have fun trying to guess which is my past and which is fiction. I also try to go down roads less traveled in as far as adding to already established backstory and explore ideas that I haven't seen in other stories. Valid suggestions are always considered... As a quick note, the two stories that I am currently working on actually started out as one shots. 'Road Trip' was started at the behest of my grandkits, and sort of took on a life of it's own. While the story is labeled complete, somewhere down the line, probably after I finish 'Hopps Express', I plan to do a sequel to 'Road Trip' detailing Nick, Judy and the kits lives, or maybe just expand the story I'll be dropping a related chapter into 'Road Trip' from time to time, so it's NOT quite finished just yet. I've had more than one reader comment on the fact that the story title doesn't reflect much of an actual road trip. The story actually started off as a one shot and grew due to reader reviews and requests. It's NOT meant to be deceiving it just evolved into a multi chapter story. When I can come up with an extension to the title (like I have with Hopps Express) I will, or change the intro to better reflect the story. On the other paw, Hopps Express popped into my head after the movie because there is a chain of gas stations where I live that are actually 'Hopps Express' stations, that's where I got the pic used to mark the story. No, a family of bunnies don't own the stations, and the owners names aren't named Hopps, it's just a name they branded because the service is supposed to be fast. FYI: I am currently working on another (unrelated) story that is again NOT ZPD related, and is pretty much totally different from the first two multi-chapter stories. I'm going to wait until I pretty much have the story finished until I post it, but the wait shouldn't be too long, so keep a weather eye out for it. Thanks, GhostWolf88 |
