Author has written 17 stories for Law and Order: SVU, House, M.D., Sherlock Holmes, and Sherlock.
Hello there! I've had a home here now for a while, but for those who may not know me, my name is Rebecca. I am a recent college graduate with a double bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology and am currently working as a Probation and Parole Officer for sex offenders. I am also a member of the RESPONSE team, an all-volunteer organization that works for and with victims of sexual assault.
I am very passionate about fighting against sexual assault and advocating for its victims. I feel I have been called to do the best I can in trying to shed light on this issue because it is not given the respect it deserves. I am striving to make victims' voices heard and their experiences matter in a society that may ignore them. I have numerous stories on this site, but one in particular I was compelled to do because of this field. Titled "Trip Wire", it takes a journey with a victim through assault, recovery, and healing. Though I used characters and concepts from a favorite show of mine, Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, the idea behind the work is to provide a look into the world of a victim to show the reality of such a heinous situation. The transition from victim to survivor is a journey that is darker than most could ever imagine, and it is my hope that through my story, more will realize that this kind of tragedy can and does happen to every type of person.
On a lighter note, I am also an avid reader and writer.Readers familiar with me know I become very easily wrapped up in what I enjoy and my creativity tends to reflect that, but even those who don't know me can easily tell just by looking at my list of stories. Need I say that I was hooked on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit when I first began on this site?! Now it seems my obsession has jumped over to House, M.D...so keep on the lookout for the list to continue expanding!
