Author has written 2 stories for Stargate: Atlantis. I used to be listed as Kodiak's Sweet Breath on here, but I've changed it and here's why: I have absolutely NO IDEA how I came up with that name!! Seriously, no clue! I've lived in Kodiak, and loved it there, so that's where that part came from... no idea about the other part... yeah, it's weird... But the problem with that name it that, as Stargate fanfic readers know, there's a BRILLIANT author by the name of Kodiak Bear Country. She's often called "Kodiak" which is awkward with my name since people might not know which they are talking about (I've been contacted about things for her. Don't worry, I sent them in the right direction!) I didn't know about her when I came up with my name, but I quickly found out. However, I couldn't come up with anything good. NOW I HAVE! (Years later...) Amaq Iraluq Both words are Alutiiq (uh-LOU-tick) which is a language from southwest Alaska; more specifically these words are from the Kodiak area dialect. The first word means "Amber" which is the name of my fist dog whom I love: she means the world to me. She is such a good girl and has gone through so much. She's such a good friend and has always been there for me. I don't know how I would have gotten through many things without her! She puts up with me so well; when I have a migraine she knows and won't push me to pet her (since I'm sensitive to tactile things when I have one) unless I call her over. Then she will lay perfectly still next to me and let me pet her and concentrate on her and not the pain, until I manage to fall asleep. The second word means "moon." I have some really good memories of family moments at night, out under the stars and moon. Stargazing with mom and grandma, bonfires on the beach in winter, playing outside in the snow with my sister, the list goes one! Also, there wicked cool time we were in the car and we come over this rise and it was the biggest harvest moon ever (that I've seen at least.) It seemed to take up the whole sky, and was a deep, russet orange. An Amber color. So my new name is Amaq Iraluq, or Amber Moon :) My real name is Tori, however. I am a fan of House, Bones, Stargate: Atlantis, Stargate: SG-1, CSI along with many other shows. And far too many books and movies to list. However, standouts include Harry Potter (the books more than the movies,) the Julie of the Wolves books, A Beautiful Mind (movie,) most Psychological Thrillers, Stardust, RENT and Labyrinth. I also highly enjoy the standup comedy of Eddie Izzard. Due to my dad's job, I have moved a lot. I've lived in Alaska (born there and lived in three different towns,) New York, Texas, Colorado, Hawaii, Florida, Ohio and Massachusetts. I have four pets: two cats, two dogs. One of the dogs, amber, means the world to me. All of them are rescues. I'm an avid equestrian. I ride hunter, but of course do a lot of work on the flat to have a better seat over the jumps. I would love to try cross country someday; it looks like so much fun! I don't own a horse, but I hope to some day. My dream horse would be a tall (at least 16hand) big boned horse; maybe a throughbred/warmblood or a PMU reascue. I like the look of a bay with small white markings; they might not be as "flashy" as a paint or appaloosa, but I still love them and think they're classy. Other hobbies include many things! I like to go for runs with the dogs (And they love it too!) I have many freshwater fish tanks, all planted with live plants (which grow like weeds!) I also like to crochet. I’ve made many things out of yarn – hats, stuffed animals, a fly net (for a horse,) slippers and many other things. I'm currently in college, second semester, and have many years ahead of me! I plan on going to medical school and become a doctor. I will then work National Health Service Corps in Rural or under developed areas - such are the middle of nowhere Montana or Alaska. Going to college is my 12th school. Now, I've changed schools more then that, but sometimes it was back to a school that I'd been to before, so I don't count it! Also, that doesn't count homeschooling, which I've done for a total of about four years. Do that math, that's changing schools on average more then once a year; more when you account for the fact that I started college at 15! I have only spent an entire grade at one school, with one teacher once in my life! (Unless you count homeschool.) And no, I’m not some freaky genius. Enjoy reading my stories. If you read them, please leave a review or send me a message! I love to hear that people read them! Even just a review of "nice" or something is fantastic and makes me smile all day! |
