Author has written 11 stories for Rurouni Kenshin, Final Fantasy VII, Detective Conan/Case Closed, Ranma, Please Save My Earth, and Gundam Wing/AC.
Thank you for reading my fics.
Update 12/14/2014: Posted re-write of chapters 1-3 of Jenova Rebirth, and a brand new chapter 4. First new writing I've managed since January, yay! For those of you waiting for The Case of the Missing Detective, fear not. Chapter 12 gets written next. I will be alternating chapters between Jenova Rebirth and The Case of the Missing Detective for the foreseeable future. I know Jenova Rebirth doesn't get nearly as much love as TCotMD, but I can't help that I enjoy writing it! :)
Update 12/5/2014: Health: Crappy. Desire to write fanfic: Overwhelming. My Detective Conan fic and my two active FFVII fics are screaming for my attention. Posted a one-shot Gundam Wing fic that I wrote a few years ago, just to prove I'm alive.
Update 4/28/2014: So how's this for an excuse for not updating recently? Early February I went to the doctor for some distressing symptoms that I've been watching for because of, well, genetics. Long story short, I had tons of blood drawn, a liver biopsy (ow) and I was diagnosed with stage 1-2 Primary Billiary Cirrhosis. Fortunately, thanks to modern medicine, this is a completely reversible genetic liver disease, and because I was expecting liver problems and was keeping an eye out for symptoms, I caught it just before it went from "stage 1-2" to "stage 3-4." (How unfair is it that I get a liver disease without ever taking a drink of alcohol?) Unfortunately, the treatment involves taking a very expensive and gigantic pill called Urso (apparently the only known treatment) three times a day for the forseeable future. (Seriously, it's almost $4 per pill. But it's either pay out and get better, or die a long painful death. Back in 1983 I watched my grandma die of cirrhosis of the liver over the course of 9 months and it was pretty freaking terrible, so no thank you. But ow, my poor, poor wallet.)
So I've been on this medication for a couple of weeks now. My liver doctor says it's supposed to "calm down my liver," at which point it will start to repair itself, which is kind of neat. And I AM feeling better. And now that I'm feeling better, my thoughts are drifting back to writing. I just need to get my head back in the game (aka - re-read my own story and remember what the heck I was doing where I left off). So hopefully you'll start seeing updates again soon.
Update: 2/2/2014: Feeling a little better, physically. The one year anniversary of my mother's death is coming up and holy crap, the nightmares I've been having. Sleep sucks right now. But I wrote another 1,500 words today, so don't give up on me yet.
Update: 1/28/2014: So. Very. Sick. The kids and I have contracted some kind of Martian Death Flu. Just updating to say I'm still alive, and so is the fic, but ugh. Sick now. :(
Update: 1/21/2014: 2500 words into chapter 12. Still have at least four more scenes to write.
Update 1/9/2014: FINALLY posted Chapter 11 of The Case of the Missing Detective.
Update 1/7/2014: UGH. Okay, no more making predictions of when I'll have the next chapter ready. December sucked me emotionally dry, no doubt about that, until I didn't even have two sparks of creativity to rub together. Now I'm feeling WORLDS better, and the next chapter is coming along nicely! BUT. If I say "Hey, I think I can have this ready by Tuesday morning," then Real Life says, "Oh yeah? Here, have a sick child and a plumbing emergency, and just for fun, let's throw in a few car troubles for good measure."
So I apologize for getting anyone's hopes up that Chapter 11 would be ready today. Just know that I am working on it in whatever spare time I can scrape together and will post it as soon as humanly possible. :bows humbly: Please be patient with me.
Update 1/5/2014: YES. The writing juices are flowing again. Unfortunately, they didn't decide to start flowing until yesterday, but they seem to be making up for lost time. I'm currently 3,600 words into Chapter 11. If things go smoothly, I should be able to post Monday night, or Tuesday morning at the latest.
Update 12/29/2013: December has been a hard month. 2013 has been a hard year, and I am not sorry to see it end. My family and I, especially my dad and my sister, are still trying to figure out how to live without my mom.
I didn't have it in me to write much in the weeks leading up to Christmas. We had a good Christmas -- a sad Christmas, but still good, because I have a good family. And now it's done, and I feel like I've been holding my breath all month and am only now getting the chance to exhale.
So now I'm back to writing again. I have a whole week in front of me, and I hope to have Chapter 11 of The Case of the Missing Detective ready to post by this Saturday. Wish me luck. And thanks for sticking with me, loyal readers.
Update 11/30/2013: Posted Chapter 10 of The Case of the Missing Detective.
Update 11/26/2013: I must apologize for being so late with Chapter 10 of The Case of the Missing Detective. It's been a hectic month and I haven't had much writing time. Also, this will probably be the longest chapter yet. I'm already 7,000 words in, and I've probably got another 6,000 words before I'm done. Fortunately, I have a ton of free time coming up in the next few days over Thanksgiving weekend, so expect Chapter 10 to be posted by Monday at the latest. Thanks for your support and patience! :)
Update 11/6/2013: Posted Chapter 9 of The Case of the Missing Detective.
Update 10/20/2013: Posted Chapter 8 of The Case of the Missing Detective.
Update 10/2/2013: Posted Chapter 7 of The Case of the Missing Detective.
Update 9/16/2013: Posted Chapter 6 of The Case of the Missing Detective.
Update 9/9/2013: Posted Chapter 5 of The Case of the Missing Detective.
Update 9/3/2013: Posted Chapter 4 of The Case of the Missing Detective.
Update 9/1/2013: Some of you have written to me asking what happened to my website, akane.org. Well, it's gone because the domain name expired and I didn't realize it until about a month or so after it disappeared. So I have a new website: . Pretty much everything that was on akane.org is there, plus some new stuff.
Also, Hearts of Ice is available as an epub and mobi eBook download at .
Update 8/23/2013: Posted Chapter 3 of The Case of the Missing Detective.
Update 8/17/2013: Posted a re-write of my Detective Conan fic, The Case of the Missing Detective. The story is finally fully developed in my brain, and I am excited about working on it.
My current active fics are now All But Blood, Jenova Rebirth, and The Case of the Missing Detective.
Update 6/17/2013: So yes, it seems like I've vanished off the face of the earth yet again, since I haven't updated in over 6 months. Well, so far, 2013 has thoroughly sucked. My kids got really sick. Then so did I. Then on March 1st, my mom, with whom I have always been close, died of a massive heart attack while on a snorkling trip in Hawaii. Just imagine all the heartache and depression that you can think of, and fill in the blanks.
So... yeah. Writing fanfic has been put on the back burner once again. Sorry. But this update actually marks a point where I finally feel like coming back to it. Hopefully there will be an actual story update soon.
