December 6, 2017:
I usually avoid anything political, but I feel it is necessary to advise anyone who enjoys my work that I might not be so active on this site in a few weeks. As many of you know the current Net Neutrality regulations in the US will be undergoing a vote of removal on December 14. Should this vote undo the current freedom of the Internet in the US and this site eventually becomes victim to a subscription service from my ISP, I will be forced to stop posting my work. I will leave my stories posted, as long as I am not required to pay. Should it become necessary to pay to keep my work listed here, I will be then forced to remove my login, ID, and stories. I apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause, and I am still holding onto a shred of hope that the US Internet remains free from ISP gouging.
The December Fête des Mousquetaires challenge: Dark.
I have an idea I am working on with this, but it won't be ready for at least a couple more weeks.

The Birth of Brothers has been posted on 11/28/17 and will be in the voting stages from 12/1/17 through 12/15/17.
I enjoy immensely reading and voting for the other authors who contribute to this universe. The authors in these challenges are wonderful, and they all deserve recognition for their continued loyalty to this sadly-ended series.

I cannot express enough that I am always humbled and grateful for anyone who reads my work and enjoys what I have published. I always do my best to reply to each review whenever possible, and I enjoy meeting the different authors who share in similar interests. I always use each review I receive as a gauge for my writing skills to see where I can improve.
Who I am:
I am quite a busy woman who is the mother to a challenging 10-year-old son, long-term companion to a wonderful man, pet parent to two very mischievous kitties, full-time office worker, and part-time photography student. I have beaten thyroid cancer, and I have both the scars and the life-long side effects to prove it.
I have been writing since I could remember, and I admit that I was not very good at it as a child. I often found myself discouraged by writing, as my stories were a mess of fragments, run-ons, dangling prepositions, and mistakes in active and passive voice. If not for a very kind and patient teacher who mentored me over twenty-five years ago in my freshman basic skills writing class, I may have given up with writing altogether. Ms. W. encouraged my ideas first and told me that the grammar would follow. Her support made a huge difference in my life, and I began writing stories late at night in an old notebook that no longer sees the light of day. I have no idea whatever became of my writing mentor, and I always wish I had a way to thank her for seeing something in me that other writing teachers had so easily dismissed.
It's not the years, honey. It's the mileage.
- Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones in "Raiders of the Lost Ark"
Sit down and put down everything that comes into your head, and then you're a writer. But an author is one who can judge his own stuff's worth, without pity, and destroy most of it.
Sanity is a waste of creativity.
