![]() Author has written 13 stories for Danny Phantom. Well hello there! Thank you for taking the time to stop by my profile! If you're here, I'm going to assume you're a fellow Danny Phantom fan. If so, it's a pleasure to meet you and I invite you to wax on with me about DP to your heart's content! If not...it's still a pleasure! I'm Darth Frodo and I'm a 26 year old who still has yet to discover her free time even after being out of school. I got my bachelor's degree from Arizona State and my master's from University of Wisconsin-Madison (go Badgers!). I'm currently working as a cancer genetic counselor and I have to say that I absolutely love my job. I know many can't say that, but I really do love it. If you talk to me for more than a few minutes, you'll quickly learn that I adore genetics, so it's good that I can use it day in and day out to help people who have genetic conditions! I should warn you all that I am absolutely obsessed with Danny Phantom still to this day. It's been over 6 years and I'm still absolutely in love with the show and the characters and everything about it. I'm always happy to talk shop about DP, though I will warn you that I'm notoriously bad at responding in a decent amount of time... And please check out my deviantArt account if you have time! My username is Darth-Frodo and I'm usually more active on there. I've even got some attempts at art there too if you're interested. Just let me know you found me from fanfiction.net and I'll watch you! Table of Contents November 30, 2012 - STILL NOT DEAD!! I know eventually you'll stop believing me but I'm going to keep trying anyways! If you didn't see from above, I did indeed graduate! I'm officially Darth Frodo, MS CGC! I also got a job in cancer genetics back home, so I'm no longer in Wisconsin. It's sad, but I'm really happy to be back with my family and I'm absolutely loving my job! It's absolutely perfect for me, and I really feel like I'm finding my place in the world as an adult. It's a truly amazing feeling. I also took my certification exam this September (a crazy huge test that was harder than anything I've ever taken) and I passed! So I'm now a certified genetic counselor (that's what the CGC means), which just adds more clout and credibility to my practice. I do want to say that I've started writing again! I got interrupted by studying for my certification exam, but I got over 7 pages written in ASU! So see, I am still working on things! I promise, I really am! DF April 14, 2011 - STILL NOT A DEAD ACCOUNT! Hi everyone! I am still here, still checking my account and the reviews that you send me. I know I haven't contributed much of anything in a long, long time, but I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm still here. Graduate school is such a time suck. I thought it would be like undergrad but harder but no...there is so much time that has to go into it. I barely sleep, I'm always behind on my studies, and free time is nonexistent. It's all I can do to stay on top of my studies. So if anyone wonders why there are no updates...that's why. It's unfortunate, but it's the truth. But...I'm graduating in May!! Which means hopefully I'll have some more time once I'm finally, officially done with school. That's my hope at least. In my writing absence I've had some great ideas for my remaining fics as well as some new ideas I've really latched onto, so I'm really excited to get back into the swing of things! DF January 3, 2010 - AGAIN, THIS IS NOT A DEAD ACCOUNT!! I'd just like to stress again that this account is not dead and neither are my stories. Unfortunately I haven't been currently working on them, but I still plan on continuing and finishing them. I swear. They will be finished. I know some are at embarrassingly long wait times, but my New Year's Resolution is to get each of them updated some time in the early part of this year. Again, if I ever intend to not finish the stories, I will let you all know in a clear way. I will not just disappear on you and never return, I promise. In other news, graduate school is incredibly hard . So that's my goal. I'm going to do Secret's from the Past next, since it's the most in need of updating, and then A Secret Uncovered, and then Tortured Revenge, since I did update that one last year. So that's the order and that's what you can expect for updates in the future =D DF June 19, 2009 Just to reiterate for you all: no I'm not dead and neither are my stories. I'm working on them at this moment and I still plan on continuing and finishing them. I promise. I know it's been so long since I've updated any of them and that's totally not fair for any of you, but I'm still planning on it when I get around to them. Again, I promise. As I said before, you'll know if I ever plan on not continuing and I'll post that in the actual story itself. But uness you hear that, consider the stories still active and in progress. As for me, I graduated a month ago from college!! I'm super excited and relieved that it's all over. Now the next stage of my journey can begin. I got into the University of Wisconsin-Madison (go Badgers!) genetic counseling graduate program, which means I have two more years of graduate schooling before I can be a genetic counselor dance It's definitely a huge step and it was the school I wanted to get into, so I was super excited to find out about it Although how ironic is it that the school with one of the best genetic counseling programs is Vlad Masters' alma mater? shot'd And no, that's not why I chose the school; see above part about one of the best programs. So anywho, that's what's been happening to me Gotta move and find an apartment and get things prepared for the next stage of my life while spending as much time with my friends as possible since I won't be seeing them for a long time =( Fic-wise I'm making really good progress through Tortured Revenge and I really hope to have that up soon :fingerscrossed: Thanks for your patience guys! February 18, 2009 - NO, THIS IS NOT A DEAD ACCOUNT! For anyone that's curious about my status: yes I am still alive and kicking and this account is not dead at all. I may not respond but I'm reading all reviews that come my way and periodically responding to a few when I have the chance. But I have no intention of closing this account down nor stopping any of my stories. I'm not the kind of author to just vanish and never come back; I hate it when people do that to me and I won't do that to you. If I ever feel like I cannot under any circumstances continue I will post a note on here and all my stories stating such and may even ask a few well-respected writers if they would care to finish it based on the notes I have. If not, then I'll post all the notes so you know what I was planning on doing and how it would all be resolved. However, until you see such a note, it means I am still planning on continuing. Now, an update on where I've been and why I've been so busy. I'm graduating from college this semester and I'm trying to keep my 3.82 GPA to graduate with honors as summa cum laude (it's really hard). It's also really nerve-wracking because if I don't do well in my classes, I don't graduate, and that would throw a total kink in my plans. I'm also trying to apply for graduate school for genetic counseling and each program only lets about 3-4 people in per year, which has been incredibly stressful. I've just received word from two schools (Northwestern in Chicago and Purdue in Indiana) saying that they want me to come for an interview in April, so here's hoping on that! But for any that have gone through either college graduation and/or applying for grad school, you know how stressful it can be, and if not...just wait. So yes, I'm incredibly busy as of late, but that doesn't mean I've given up. I don't stop writing and I still continue to write, even if just a bit at a time. I did get ASU finally posted in June and I'm 7 pages out of a possible 12-14 in TR, so I'm getting there! So I swear that I do plan on continuing. I have so so many good ideas that won't leave me alone at night and it's a shame that I don't have the time to write them down. But believe me, I won't let this baby (or any of my babies) just fade into nothing. And for those of you that have expressed interest or concern in the continuation of my stories, I feel so honored and loved that you care enough to question me about it Hopefully I can update something decently soon in payment for all your concern and continued support. I do realize that I've been sorely lacking on posts and I'm incredibly sorry for it. But there will be updates in the foreseeable future, I promise. I will not go down without a fight. Love, September 21, 2008 Still alive! =D Funny how I always need to remind people of that... Anywho, I just wanted to let you know about the International DP Day of Angst. The founders and those participating have noticed that there's a significant lack of good, hearty angst and we thought that certainly needed remedying. So all us angst writers are going to flood the front page with angsty one-shots, ones that will hopefully remind DP authors about this wonderful genre that's sadly fallen to the wayside. If you'd like to participate or would like to read what we all put forth, it's on October 1st (so soon!) and if you're interested in more information there's a club on dA for it with more information, participants, and reminders http:/// Please check it out and join if you can! Major: I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Genetic Counseling Number One Obsession: Lord of the Rings! About me: I love writing with only one problem, I never have enough time. Oh well, I write when I can. But I'm extremely obsessive over getting details right and put a lot of thought and attention into my stories, so I hope you all enjoy reading them! I'm also a bathroom philosopher, as strange as it sounds. Some of my best ideas come to me on the toilet or in the shower, so I'm definitely a firm believer in it! Feel free to PM me any time if you have any questions, comments, suggestions, or you just want to talk! Also feel free to check out my dA account! I’m on there with more frequency XD General Beliefs on Danny Phantom This is just a little section I decided to put in describing my general beliefs when it comes to writing Danny Phantom fics. You'll find these used throughout all the fanfics I write, whether they're explicitly stated or not. You of course don't have to believe them, but just know that I do and will therefore use them in my fics. Danny's powers are genetically based. His DNA has been rearranged to where his DNA strand is a mix of human and ghost DNA, the most prevalent being associated with the form he's currently in. Danny bleeds both red and green at all times, just in his human form it's mostly red and in his ghost form it's mostly green. Danny cannot pass through a ghost shield in human form due to the lingering ghostly DNA and ectoplasm in his blood. (I know he does it in the tv show a lot, but it just makes more sense this way. Plus, all the other inventions work around him as a human, so why shouldn't this one?) When a ghost, Danny does not need to breathe, eat, drink, or sleep and therefore cannot feel hungry or thirsty and only feels tired after using too much energy (if he went ghost and just sat in his bed without using any powers he would never feel tired nor need to sleep). He is also impervious to any forms of radiation and extreme temperatures. When a human, however, he is no longer impervious and requires the four necessities. Danny's temperature is always a little below normal even as a human due to his half dead status. Ghost hunting is passed through the Fenton line from generation to generation. As such they have created a code of conduct for all aspiring Fenton Ghost Hunters to abide by. They take this code quite seriously, never doubting it's truth (unless of course you're Jack or Maddie and you find out your son's a ghost). Among such beliefs are that ghosts are evil and that it is a ghost hunter's duty to hunt and capture all ghosts, no matter who they once were. More about this to come in the first entry of LDPP. Jack has a brother named Jerry who didn't want to be a ghost hunter and was thus kicked out of the family. He's now a professor of archeology in Egypt and doing quite well. Although I may not mention it and it may not be an important part of the story, I will always use DannyXSam pairing. I'm not usually one for putting romance into a story unless there's a good reason, but I guess it's good to know that it'll always be there in the background. In response to my beliefs on Danny and Valerie's relationship (since this is going to be very important in Tortured Revenge): Valerie has a crush on Danny and still really likes him, but knows it's impossible to date him (as expressed in Flirting with Disaster) but Danny, while having a crush on her once before, is now over it and just sees her as a very good friend. As such he doesn't want to lose her friendship with her not because he has a crush on her but because he doesn't want to lose one of the few friends he has. In reference to Jazz (which will be important later): I know there are about a million possibilities for her future occupation, however, I've always seen her as a true psychologist. I know they say she wants to be a brain surgeon and they've hinted that she'll become a ghost hunter, but I really see her leaving that to her brother and making it more or a hobby than an actual profession. I also see her as becoming a psychologist in the end, but flipping between that and a brain surgeon for most of her high school career. Although, am I the only one that can see her as an excellent politician? I'll explain this theory later in an upcoming LDPP... And about Dan. This is important now, since I've just revealed him as the main bad guy in ASU. And this may be a completely general belief, but it's still going up anyways. At this moment, Danny is not destined to turn into Dan. As long as he doesn't split his human half from his ghost half, he won't turn evil. Dan, however, still exists since as they say in TUE, he exists outside of time now, so he exists, but that doesn't necessarily mean he'll turn into him. Now, I'm not saying he'll never turn evil and his life's all sunshine and stuff, but as long as he stays in one piece, he's fine (which may or may not happen in ASU!) Also an important tidbit of information, if Danny happens to, oh for the sake of argument let's say develop the power to make things explode and telekinesis, the only way Dan would be able to acquire such abilities is if Danny was going to turn into him, since then that would affect Dan's past and would thus affect him, even if he does exist outside of time because the past is what created him, and thus it'll change him. So then the important thing is, does Dan have Danny's new powers in ASU or not?... I've decided that Amity is in Oregon. There are two pretty good reasons for why I believe this. 1) In "Fanning the Flames" they're preparing to take the Northwestern 9 Testing, indicating that they live somewhere in the Northwest. 2) I used that information and looked up on the computer and the only Amity in the Northwest is in Oregon near Portland (at least, I think it was near Portland, but it was in Oregon). Therefore, in my opinion, Amity is in Oregon and will be located there for all my stories. Ghost powers are a dominant genetic trait. Since ghosts are more powerful than humans, it would make sense that their genes are more powerful than human genes as well, thus they would be a dominant trait. So, due to this fact, his children have a fifty percent chance of becoming half ghost. But the purity of the ghost powers would decrease as the lineage was passed on, due to repeated blending with more human DNA. So, in five hundred years, a Fenton descendant with ghost powers will still have a fifty percent chance of having a child with ghost powers, but they may only have one percent of Danny's full power capacity. The Ghost Portal can never be turned off. If the portal could be turned off, Danny would never let it remain on, seeing as how it is the source of all the ghost attacks and thus his constant problems. Therefore, the portal cannot be turned off. It's stabilized and will remain that way. So, sorry to disappoint Mary Sue's everywhere, but the Fenton Ghost Portal will never make another half ghost because it'll never be turned off. It is forever a portal to the Ghost Zone and entering it will always take you to the Ghost Zone and not turn you into a half ghost. Unless there's a power outage...then all the above is null and void... |
