Author has written 12 stories for Degrassi, Winx Club, Law and Order: SVU, and Criminal Minds.
So, I'm the kind of girl who jumps into a fanfic head-first... then abandons it for years.
Then, sometimes, I'll do a complete re-write of the fanfic... only to abandon it again.
I'm 22 years old, an Early Childhood Education major, and a writer (obviously).
My current project is a Degrassi fanfic revolving around the lives of Degrassi students around 10-11 years into the future (We Are Not Forgotten). I also have some unfinished (and abandoned) fanfics about Winx Club, and Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. I may decide to work on those in the future- along with a Criminal Minds one.
I LOVE constructive criticism. Please. Be harsh... give suggestions. I really don't care. As long as I get comments/reviews I'm ok.
-Improper use of homophones. Your=possession; you're=you are. They are two completely different words! (Same with there/they're/their!)
-POV stories. I hate it when every few lines the story changes points of view. Find a better way than announcing "So-and-so's POV" before each section. Find a better way to do it! If you really want to see into everyone's minds give them blogs, or journals, or emails... something. Then write the overall story in a THIRD PERSON PERSPECTIVE.
-People who don't believe in like breaks. "So what do you want to do?" Carla asked. "I don't know," Kim said... When a new person speaks, you start a NEW paragraph. It gives me a headache trying to read stories where everything is in one large paragraph.
I'm sure there are more. Chances are, though, if I see these things (especially the latter two) I will stop reading the fanfic completely.
