To all of you who have asked that I update my stories, good news, I've started again. Well, I hope it last. I'm still not in a good place, but it's better. Due my many physical and mental disabilities and financial woes, I'm living in my daughter's kitchen/dining room (we dragged a futon in there), in a two bedroom trailer, with two kids, one roommate, one boyfriend (the daughter's), one daughter, myself, a dog, and a cat. There is no privacy, room, or quiet time to write. Life shit on me and I'm still washing off the stink. But hey, I've got a roof over my head and food to eat, so it's not all bad.
Update: My youngest daughter bought me a Fitbit for my birthday, (she such a good kid) so I've started an exercise and diet regiment in hopes that some of my physical ailments get better. I want to drop a few pounds, and make it so I can walk easier (I use a cane right now, due to back problems). The Fitbit wants you to walk 250 steps an hour, which was hard a first. I've now got it up to 1,000 an hour and am hoping to get to 1,500 soon. I didn't realize I was eating so much until I logged it all in. Now, I've cut my calories to a reasonable level and hope to maintain it there. Wish me luck.
I am now editing 'The Escape' and working on 'The Shock of it All'. I have do it in the wee hours of the morning, but that's okay. I can't sleep anyway. Besides, coffee is my best friend. I'm feeling a bit rusty. I've also started a rewrite of one of my favorite stories, 'Potter's Protector '. 'The Escape' and 'Protecting Potter' are going to be slow going. I want to get 'The Shock of It All' done, and what was going to be a few chapters has turned into more. Stupid muse.
If someone adopts a story, I'll post it as a chapter on the adopted one. Thanks for all the support.
This Time the Potters is up for adoption (Update: I've had a few people say they will, so I'll let you know if they do). I just don't know where to go from where it ended. If you want to rewrite it, that's fine, just drop me a link.
The Escape (and Nightmare) was co-written with Smargden, the original Swedish version(s) can be found with the English version on his profile.
I would like to shout out to two betas that have looked at most of my stories, barring the rewrites. alix33 and darrelldeam. These guys are great, and helped me a lot.
I've now realized how useful a community is. Now I don't have to browse through all the fics, I just let them do it for me. Well, I'll still do my own browsing when I feel like it (especially crossovers). I have my own community and add anything I'm likely to read more than once. So go join mine, or another, or ten, and let me, or them, help you find a good story.
How to find a beta
Go to the top of ffn, click the beta tab, select your type of story (book, movie…), narrow results (Harry Potter, Twilight...), narrow them some more (drama, family…), go to the last page for newer betas, read profiles, and pm who you like. I suggest more than one.
If you want to extend one or more of my one-shots, or create a world that branches off one of mine, have at it, just drop me a link so I can let my readers know. I find it flattering.
Thanks for dropping by and reading my rambling.
I am cross-posting a few stories on AO3 under the name faewm. Just so you know it is me. Though, I have an abandoned account under Fairywm on that site as well.
