Author has written 30 stories for Harry Potter, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, NCIS, Practical Magic, and Marvel.
Started writing again. I'm still in pain, Doc says arthritis, YAY, but I'll dictate and type as much as a can and post when I have a chapter. Right now, I'm working on Walking Dead Utopia.
So, I got a review about someone taking exception on me naming myself dyslexic. I have known my dyslexia since I was 7. I'm 55 now. Not a lot was known about it then, and it took years for me to read unencumbered. I still have issues if I'm reading out loud, which is why I don't read myself the chapter, since my eyes and mouth won't coordinate.
Worse than letters, is my dyscalculia, which is dyslexia with numbers. Word problems in school were a nightmare. I will never be able to do higher math. Not because I don't understand, but because my 6 is a 9.
It doesn’t help that I have an astigmatism.
I also can't tell left from right without a lot of gestures to see which hand I write with. Which makes taking direction while driving annoying. I also get lost extremely easy. I'm easy. I’ve gotten lost crossing the street. Yes, that easy.
I also suffer from spoonerism. If you've ever seen Robin Hood Men in Tights, the sheriff of Rottingham suffers from it. My case is mild, and it's only when I'm tired or nervous that my words get mixed up. It's frustrating, but sometimes funny as hell. Like this morning when I asked my daughter about her t-site web-shirt.
As you can see my view of the world is a bit sideways and mixed up. I've overcome most of these, with a lot of hard work and diligence. I worked by myself, with no help from teachers, family or anyone. I am a functioning member of society. That is what counts. So, I have to say, I take exception on someone trying to call me out on my disability. Honestly, I wouldn't be so fussed if they pmed and not reviewed. Though, I might have read it wrong. Because I tend to do that. Still, next time pm someone.
My Avatar is pictures drawn by my third daughter. She always was a good artist. She did up the months of the year, and many other pics, including the zodiac. I'll be using the months for now, since her zodiac ones are risque. Check out her work here. https:/// copy and paste. She also has a here https://www..com/Maz3_Hollows_arts . Ffn doesn't allow outside links.
Let me correct a misconception, I am an American. However, I'm writing from a British perspective, so I try to have my stories use British lingo . I don't always get it right, as is pointed out to me via brit-pickers (to which I am very thankful). Anyways, some reviewers seem to think I'm from the UK, nope born and breed USA. Just thought I'd clear that up.
If you are reading this, I'm going to assume you've read at least one of my stories. In most of my stories I speculate that there's no such thing as Muggleborn. I'm constantly asked, then where did the first one come from? My answer: the same place the first human came from... Evolution. They evolved, just like non-magicals. I could but a religious twist on it, and say Magic was a diety that worked in conjunction with God, but I'm more of an atheist than religious. Not straight up, but leaning that way. Anyway, that's my answer.
This Time the Potters is now complete. However, If you want to rewrite it, that's fine, just drop me a link. I never heard back from those who said they'd take it up. Update: it's been adopted by Mistress LeFay, here's the link (copy and paste if it doesn't work). https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13492775/1/This-Time-the-Potter-s
There is also a one-shot off my A Brand New Start story: Brand New Start - Home Dimension by RUGoing2writethat. It is a really cute story on what happens to George and Hermione after Hydrus/Harry leaves.
The Escape (and Nightmare) was co-written with Smargden, the original Swedish version(s) can be found with the English version on his profile. I'm pulling this one too. Same reason. You can still find it on his page.
Denice, has translated What About Our Points? To Czech. https:///modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=7615
Joining a community is useful. If you're part of one, you don't have to browse through all the fics, just let them do it for you. Well, you can still browse, when you feel like it. I have my own community and add anything I'm likely to read more than once. So, go, join mine, or another, or ten, and let me, or them, help you find a good story.
How to find a beta
Go to the top of ffn, click the beta tab, select your type of story (book, movie…), narrow results (Harry Potter, Twilight...), narrow them some more (drama, family…), go to the last page for newer betas, read profiles, and pm who you like. I suggest more than one.
If you want to extend one or more of my one-shots, or create a world that branches off one of mine, have at it, just drop me a link so I can let my readers know. I find it flattering.
Thanks for dropping by and reading my rambling.
I am cross-posting a few stories on AO3 under the name faewm. Just so you know it is me. Though, I have an abandoned account under Fairywm on that site as well.
