Favorite Harvest Moon: Magical Melody Pairings-
Alex/Gina: Naturally, good-hearted Alex loves his job, and tending to everybody in FlowerBud. But its exhausting an frustrating. He could really use a girl to lean on. And Gina, the sweet, reserved maid fits the role perfectly. Often, she lifts weights off his shoulders when she helps, and the unorganized doctor needs her to keep him in line. Can you say perfect match?
Kurt/Dia: They are both shy and untalkative. True, it would be hard for them to get together on ther on, considering how shy they both are. But it'd be fun to see gloomy, too-cool-for-you Kurt fall in love. Plus, Dia would hate to be pitied just because of her condition, but she always is, and certainly couldn't deal with a husband like that. Kurt doesn't underestimate her, kind of compares her to himself personality-wise, and he's one of the most unsympathetic guys you can find.
Joe/Gwen: Two hotheads. Isn't that reason enough? No? You ask, what of Joe/Katie. While JoeKatie is fine, JoeGwen has more of an appeal to it. What with Joe's uncanny fishing ability and Gwen's awesome cooking, they're a great team that would work well with one another. While Bob and Gwen are childhood friends, that's all. I see them as just that. Joe definetly needs a hotheaded girl rather than a shy one. Joe is loud, annoying, and can talk for hours. Anyone could easily be ticked off. But as I see it, Joe needs someone constantly keeping him in line.
Carl/Katie: Carl is still a child on the inside. He loves to cook, and is great at it, too! He's looking for that special cake that Katie can help him find, his life-long dream accheived. Also, Katie is headstrong but also a sweet young girl. You don't even have to look close to see it. Carl hired her because he knew she had potential. She's also his only (very loyal) employee. Maybe if you look at the game with a pair of binoculars, you can see the bond that has been growing steadily between the hothead and the sweet guy.
Blue/Ann: Everyone knows all of Ann's inventions turn out as disasters. Yet, she still strives for success, determined to invent whats in her heart. Blue is the shy, quiet type that seems a bit distant. He needs a hyper, entergetic girl who doesn't get mad easily to help him open up to the place. One warm smile of Ann's could get him blushing in no time. Blue loves what he does, and he's a very hard-worker, and a sweetie-pie. When Ann gets married, she'll take care of her husband with all that a worrying wife of a working man would. Coming home to a nice, cooked dinner (if she CAN make one lol) would be a nice surprise for the ever-working Blue.
Dan/Eve: Dan is a womanizer and a gambler. At first glance, two traits that would want to make you steer clear of him. But he really does what he does for the action. He does love the ladies, but he's a kind, energetic soul that can't stay in one place for too long. Eve needs an active husband/ It doesn't look much like it, but believe it or not, Eve is not one of those cold older woman. She's an extremely kind, hard-working gal who's very shy. 10 minutes hanging out with Dan could change that drastically. Also, I believe Dan will definetly be hitting on Eve. Nothing Eve hasn't heard before. But she's the innocent type who's never mad. She could put up with him, unlike many other ladies.
Ellen/Carl: Ellen would go perfectly with one of those shy, cute, nice guys with a passion that they work for constantly. If there's anybody Ellen would have trouble taking care of, its one of those hot guys thinking 'ANGST...ANGST...ANGST...' Ellen lives for animals as Carl does for cooking. Carl would be estatic to cook for his wife and do the work, leaving Ellen time for the animals and the housework. They'd be a happy couple who could never get on one another's nerves. And their kids work be hard-working, inspiring little angels.
Ellen/Bob: Why do you think that Bob stays at Blue Sky Ranch until Tai, the blacksmith moves in. The obvious answers being that you need to know Bob and he loves livestock, right? But who do you think let him? It's not like he invited himself. I have much doubt that it was Blue. Ellen and her father decided to let him stay with them. On top of that, Bob is very grateful and sweet to her. I can see it happening.
Louis/Lyla: The shy smart guy who's far overlooked. He obviously has a crush on Lyla. Just adding one to the billion. But he needs a sweet patient girl to tolerate his shy side. What could really stand out is Louis doesn't have the courage to ask her to any of the festivals. But Lyla does. She has plenty of confidence. And she's really the only girl willing. Imagine his surprise when SHE ends up asking HIM.
Ray/Maria: Is Maria really content with that? Just being the librarian? She is one of those kinda nerdy book types. She's the girl who needs a breath of fresh air. To leave her post occasionally and have a little fun. Seldom goes a day when she doesn't find herself alone in the library. Also. Ray knows absolutely nothing about girls. It'd be fun to see him trying to win over Maria. And the most pitiful, it would probably work. Maria doesn't ask for much. She's easily pleased. But maybe she needs someone like fishboy to have a little fun, which mayor's daughters aren't known to have.
Meryl/Tim: They are just children. They are just friends. But 6 years of friendship holds a certain bond where you can't imagine a world without them. Tim is one of the only people who has stayed with Meryl through the laughs and the games. Who brought her out of her shell. They could never dislike each other. And I'm sure you can all easily envision him protecting her up in the mountains during the "Lost Child" segement of the game.
Alex/Nami: I don't really have an explanation for this one. (Readers: Yes! Finally!) I guess it has to do with Nami's personality more than anything, and Alex is extremely understanding. Nami's the tomboy who's not gonna be told what to do by anybody. The cold, distant one. And wouldn't quite her job for anything. That may be a bit of trouble if she falls pregnant. But, hey, if she's going to marry someone, that definetly makes Alex a practical choice. And I enjoy these types of characters with eachother, always always surprising one another.
Joe/Katie: Two hotheads. Katie knows how to handle a loud mouth like Joe. Joe doesn't get angry so he's one of those good choices for a girl like Katie. They both love their job. Neither is going to quite anytime soon, I can tell you that. But Joe's still kind enough to abandon his job when she falls ill. He's hyper and full of surprises, someone Katie needs to keep herself together although his carefree personality could her off a bit.
Nina/Basil: It's not that I don't love it, but i don't see much reason to it. But I like how Basil will always have someone nice and caring to come home to. While I like Basil/Katie, she's easily enraged and he could find himself in a very one-sided argument if he comes home so much as a day later than expected. Nina is the last person to blow her lid. She's understanding of him, traveling alone is just sad. He's not really as much of a wanderer as he thinks. He could take Nina to the most exotic places, and she would appreciate it greatly, if not a bit lonely not being near her mother. I could easily see this working out.
Basil/Katie: Sure, he would wind up in wacky one-sided arguments, which may be just the thing he doesn't need. But they would be a great team, and Basil could never get mad at her. Its not much of a reason, but I like it nonetheless.
Ann/Ray: Ray dedicates his life to fishing. While its a bit hard envisioning him with a woman in his life, which he doesn't NEED, it'd be nice. And Ann would be willing to help out her husband all the time, even if the fish-detectors she builds for him blow up in his face, the hard work is worth it for the laughs and the fun. I could not see Ann with anyone clingy, dependant, or very close. She needs her space, and her husband would need the same. She likes space, and her livewire, kind personality could really help Ray become more social.
Ann/Joe: I could find Ann easily fascinated in Joe. His work, his hobby, his family, his personality, his everything. Sure, I said above Ann might work better with the less social types, but in this situation, with his job and love for fishing, this could easily work out. And they would never fight. I personally see Ann as the only person in all of Flowerbud who can not only tolerate his loud, annoying way of just getting absorbed of talking about what he loves, but also find herself talking with him all about it. Think of it, no matter how social Joe is, the feeling is rarely mutual, thus the conversation ends before it begins.
Dan/Gwen: Dan is definetly a womanizer. While he is kind, he may not settle for less than the best. While it's an unnerving, rude twist to his hyper, nice personality, he needs a pretty girl or he'll complain. Dan has no money and hobby of gambling. No matter where he goes, he can't really get on his feet. A pretty, tolerant cook may be his perfect match. After all, Dan is easily distracted and somewhat of a procrastinator. His mind can't stay in one place at work. So, he may need a girl who is willing to help work. Which Gwen would be more than willing to. They would make a great team.
Maria/Joe: Maria might need an energetic guy to have a little fun. (exception: Ray/Maria) And often you can find shy girls finding comfort in afar admiration of the hard-working loud type who strive for their goal no matter what the obstacles. And often, it helps them boost their confidence just to think of being like them. That's really all I have.
