Author has written 13 stories for Teen Titans, and Justice League.
I really feel it would be polite to add some information about myself, before I go reviewing people's stories. To tell the truth, the reason for creating this account at fanfiction.net was so that I could review a really great story a friend sent me the links to!
I do have an interest in writing stories, though it's not something I generally have much time for. Most of my free time I prefer to spend reading: I'm an avid reader, and I will always make time to read books. I wish I could say the same for my studies. I also write a few original stories, mostly childrens fantasy that I use as bedtime stories for some of the kids I babysit.
I read a lot of fantasy, though I've picked up books in many genres, including neuropsychiatry and self-help. If it's sold in a bookshop (or better still, given away free), then I will probably read it at some point. I did follow the X-men comics for about two years, having been an X-men fan since the first time I saw the cartoon one Saturday morning many years ago. But I decided I'd prefer to spend money on books, instead, and anyway, it's two hours on the bus to the nearest comic shop, and I just don't have that kind of time or energy. The bookshop however, is ten minutes up the road. Thus the question begs itself: am I really an X-men fan? I do not know...
I love cartoons: Disney channel, Cartoon Network, all the Pixar and Dreamworks stuff... and I love anime. Special mention of Teen Titans, Jackie Chan Adventures and Kim Possible, being favourites. I've even adopted Jade's "Tcha!" In anime... I follow Naruto, and enjoyed a lot of what I've watched in the past, but I'm on the lookout for a new one!
I've recently become obsessed with the Justice League/ Justice League Unlimited as well, but my television viewing also includes such gems as Will & Grace, Everybody Loves Raymond and Blackadder. I love sitcoms, and wish my life were as continuously funny as that!
A word on my own stories.
Birds: I wrote this RobRae one-shot for the Wings of Flight challenge by Daybreak25 and I liked the way it came out, as did a few others, it seems. It is a one-shot, although I've been asked for more chapters. RobRae is not actually my preferred pairing- I have always been a RobStar fan, but rules are rules, y'know. Plus I can be a hopeless romantic so any kind of pairing works for me, as long as it's well done. I like BBRae loads better.
Idiocy: these two one shots- Idiocy and More Idiocy- follow on from each other, and are just me having a few crazy ideas I wanted to make into stories. I like using BB and Raven for one shots, because they have a lot of funny interplay between them. They're not the best writing in the world, but I was just having a bit of fun!
Psychotic: Back by request, it's been tweaked a little. I'd love for people to read this, but it's ok. I have one die hard follower of the story, and so I'm writing it specially for her. She seems to think it's great, anyway! Started one evening when I was playing around with an all-dialogue concept, I continued the story and it's now the longest piece of fiction I've ever written in my life.
An owed apology
I've been writing the Psychotic series for years now, and it's very slow progress. It might be a little quicker if it wasn't so time consuming to write- but it is, and time is a rather precious commodity. I am truly sorry for taking so long to update this series. There is no excuse, but for those interested in my reasons, here they are: I'm in my final year of medical school and it is HARD. When I do have the time to write, I often have neither the inclination nor the energy to do so. I have every intention of finishing this series though. My current plan is to publish 13 'episodes', a number I came to as it is a common number of episodes to run in a short anime series. As of the 27/12/08 I have most of Episode 10 written, with every intention of publishing before the new year. I can't say how long the next episode will take to come out- ironic really since when I get going it generally only takes me about five solid hours of work to get an episode completed. But you know, that's five hours I could be dedicating to learning how to cure heart disease- you have to take these things in context really. Anyway, I have to think up a truly devastatingly intelligent plot twist on which to end (I can hope).
Thank you very much to everyone who does take the time to read Psychotic, and to leave such encouraging reviews. I love getting those reviews but they give me such a wrench of guilt since I'm so tardy with the updates... I am delighted to hear that people enjoy my writing, and I hope you continue to do so.
