Author has written 18 stories for Lord of the Rings, Grey's Anatomy, Wicked, Glee, and Buffy: The Vampire Slayer.
I'm a scientist, an animal lover, and a music lover. I love Broadway, Glee and various other TV shows. SciFi is a genre I generally enjoy. For whatever reason I gravitate toward hurt/comfort fics. Whumping etc, lol. I'm not a writer so thanks for being gentle with me if you were to read what I've posted here. I want to thank those of you whose stories I've enjoyed and whose updates have been eagerly awaited. You all provide me with an aspect of my life that has become very...I don't know exactly, but I mean something like key, or essential. Your stories have given me a way to help fill a need of some sort that doesn't get satisfied too much elsewhere. Thank you for sharing your skill and being generous with your time and effort as well. It means a lot to me to read your wonderful stories and insights into characters and situations.
I'm a young college professor who began reading LOTR fanfic in highschool. That was my springboard into the wonderful (and sometimes hazardous) world of fanfiction. I'm not really a writer by nature, more of a reader, but so many characters have become so real to me that they kind of wander around somewhat aimlessly in my head and they occasionally require something to do, so hopefully I can provide that for them. Though certainly not with the finesse that many of my favorite authors here do.
Things I like: Lord of the Rings, Glee, Sherlock, Grey's Anatomy, Supernatural (the plot is sometimes weak, but so much pretty-boy brotherly angst!), Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Harry Potter, musical theater (Rent and Wicked were my entry into those worlds while I was in college, as I'm sure they have been for many, many others), Merlin, Psych, Doctor Who, Stargate (particularly SG-1), Star Trek, Star Wars, and more. I'm so sad for the end of Smash. Firefly is also awesome. There's more things I like (Big Bang Theory!), but those are the ones that intersect most with fanfiction.
You could call me a Starkid. Darren Criss is awesome. I love Blaine but I love best ungelled Darren-hair. :)
I want to sincerely thank the excellent fanfic writers I've enjoyed for so long - most are on my favorites list. Your stories have meant a lot to me, and been a wonderful help to me to have to read when life feels hard. Thanks so much for the time and effort I know it must have taken to write them.
A couple of pertinent facts here. I have found it to often be extremely difficult to go back and finish stories that I left hanging...I'm well aware how evil of me this is, and I intend to do my very best to grow out of this habit, but at the moment, there it is. Besides that, I've found in re-reading my stories that I really am not very good at writing actual plots; mostly I tend to just write down a lot of angsty stuff and try to make it make sense. So basically I'm just doing my best as I go along, rather than really practicing a craft, so unfortunately I'm not really passionate about the writing itself; it's basically just the characters and situations that get into my head and I have to put down on "paper" sometimes. Dialogue is hard for me, so I often don't use it, or use it sparingly, and I know that makes things kind of slow going a lot of the time. Hopefully over time that may improve. I sincerely appreciate the many of you real authors on this site who really work hard on your stories, I especially like to read your stories because they are so excellent and you do put in that work! I'm just trying to explain so that nobody gets too high of expectations if you want to read through my ramblings.
