Alo fanfiction writers! I am Female/Mexican/85/Forensic Scientist I became a member of this wonderful website when I was 15. And... it has just dawned on me that I've been writing for half my life. Wow. Hehehe. Back then I was full of inspiration, but just horrible, *horrible* at writing it! Now that I have read more, taken a few classes and matured, I feel more confident about writing. Of course now I am as inspired as a coffee table. So... yeah. Anime was my first writing passion, among my favorite couples are Sakura/Syaoran, protagonists of my very first fics (please don't read these, I love them with all my heart but objectively speaking, they are awful.) But I also enjoy writing for video games, TV series, and books. All of my fandoms are shamelessly exposed in my stories below. Currently, I am riding the canon-high for Naruto/Hinata. :3 (we are CANON!!) The only non-canon couple I ship is Horo/Tamao from Shaman King. Which if I'm completely honest, is my very favorite piece so far. Mostly I like to do in-story "unseen" cutscenes that go with the manga, or the game, or the series or whatever it is I'm writing about. I'm kind of anal about not going off story in all my fics actually. Which is ironic considering these are fan fiction... O_o yeah. At this point in my “carrier” I have finally accepted the fact that I have writers block and that the inspiration I had as a teenager will never come back. But I'm putting the experience to good use by editing and sometimes seriously altering some of my earlier fics. It may take a while, but I'll try to make the wait worth it in the end. And finally, because I have no other place to say this: I was off ffnet for a long time during my Masters degree and when I came back about a year ago I was slightly saddened by what the favorite/following system had become on the site. It seems like something homologous to the Like button on facebook now. I've been on this site for almost 15 years and I have less than 20 favorite stories, even less favorite authors, and it just seems like it's something so common to be Favorited now a days. (insert old lady voice here) Back in my day, it was quite exciting to get favorited. Being someones favorite story (or even better, favorite author!) meant that out of everything they had read here on fanfiction, your work, your piece stood out. But now, it's hard to feel like you are special to someone who doesn't even leave a review for your story. Sorry, I know I sound unappreciative and am probably generalizing, and risk loosing a lot of favorites with this rant, but this is a community where we are all supposed to help each other grow, and get better. If you have decided to favorite a story, not just mine, it'd be nice of you to tell the author why. End rant* Anyway, eh, feel free to contact me if I haven't completely alienated you or if you have any questions or comments. I’ll go off to write something useful now. Betty |
