Author has written 16 stories for Stargate: Atlantis, and Stargate: SG-1. Author's entry March 16, 2021: Unbelievable. Time ain't sittin' around, is it. All I can say is that I'm still here even if life has been a wicked and crooked ride. I sincerely hope that the Fanfiction.net community of authors and readers is holding up well and safe, and holding out with minimal discomfort. Of course no one has it easy these days but I still hope for the best of times to return. As for writing, I'm refining and heading toward a couple of finish lines! I've missed writing fanfic and miss reading new stories as well. I hoped that being under health mandated "house arrest" would be free writing time. Alas, working from home kind of dashed that. Still there is more time since I don't have to travel back and forth to work, just sign out and I'm home! Thank you kindly for those who are still reading, and taking a moment to review, favorite and watch for the next publishing. Just also a word of condolence for the recent passing of CLIFF SIMON, my favorite Stargate SG1 villain. Simon's portrayal of Ba'al was memorable and essential to the success of the Stargate universe. Till later, stay safe and well. Author's entry April 18, 2016: Wow, it's been...my math rebels here. Here it is, spring and a review just came across my email for one of my stories. Pleasing at it was, I know that I've terribly neglected a valued, wonderful past time for far too long. As RL has been such a kicker, the many stories collecting in my head like multiple personalities clamoring for attention had to be put aside. As any writer knows, that is not a good thing. So I'm keeping up with updating the stories and a glimmer of light is finally showing through my recent wall of distractions (new job, apartment renov, health uptick, etc.). So soon I'll be posting some of the stories listed on my upcoming list at last, plus a few that grew on me since. Fingers crossed and poised. And new stuff, like Sleepy Hollow, Grimm, Blindspot, Flash, and Supergirl, naming a few faves. Although SH is on life support at the moment after its 2016 season finale torpedoed its fan base, I'm still hoping it will return and redeem itself. Taking in all the Marvel and DC movies and having fun even when the storylines get offtrack. I'm hoping that now with a new tablet I can read FF on the move, and return to reviewing stories as well. Very thankful that some readers are still finding my stories and listing them as faves. This is one universe I really want to get back to asap! Author's entry Sept. 14, 2012: I am so mortified! How did I get to this miserable point without writing a SG story? I feel like I'm starving myself. In all fairness to me, I've been in a grueling real life journey which I hope is turning around now. Then my computer blitzed out again - never a plus - and because of RL I haven't been able to afford a repair. That, too, is looking brighter. I did keep jotting down notes on pending stories so I can update the moment I'm online again. Many thanks to those who are finding my stories and taking a moment to favorite them and/or me. As to the pending ones, I hope to get the longer ones up soon. In the meantime, I came up with a couple of light pieces I'll be posting when I can get back on a computer again. Missing all the S/J stuff and fluff at Gateworld, and the cool conversations on other threads there, too. Take care, everyone. Value what you have because you never know how or when it can all change. 7LB Author's entry 7/20/11: Well, a wee bit optimistic on that last update. Still jobless and looking. But I'm primed to get back to writing here and reading/reviewing. Ideas have been buzzing my head for weeks until I just have to log on and deal with some of them before they vanish. Funny how stories/dialogue/stuff is so easy before it has to be written down! Also gearing up for the next Sam/Jack Ship Day over at Gateworld's Forum on July 28. Got a really nice idea I hope will be appreciated by my forum family and fanfic writers (hint, that). For some of the longer stories I know I'll need a beta. I've gone it alone mostly but I'm already having continuity problems with one story that leaps between time periods. Does that sound conflicting? I know I have to keep what's present in a linear line while fleshing in the other time line. Agh, driving my brain nutty but that's the way the story tells itself. I'll put out an SOS once I get the final draft. I offer to beta in return, too. Oh, and happy happy face that FRINGE got the go for season 4! But really, what else was Fox going to do with a cult hit but renew it? Saw THOR and wanted more. Drooling for Jason Momoa's CONAN later this month. Keeping current with HAVEN, OUTCASTS and FALLING SKIES. How cool is it that FS got renewed before its first season ended? May it not be premature. Still loving DR. WHO, WAREHOUSE 13, and ALPHAS is growing on me; that first ep seemed dragged out but #2 was darker and tighter. Nice curve ball thrown on EUREKA! with Allison about to go dark side, or something. Poor Carter and Allie just can't catch a break! And definitely trying to keep up with the Paley Center's scifi events, and gearing up for the New York Comic Con in October. So, let's get started! See ya around the story board! 7LB Author's entry 1/29/10: Huh? What? Oh, I'm back. I hope I hope. New computer finally updated so I can surf with less hovering hysteria. What a lot of reading to catch up on!! Nothing's perfect, so have to limit my online presence for a while. RL socked me in the gut - was downsized and haven't really worked in some months. And because I didn't have the computer (or the will) my writing came to a standstill as well. Not working yet but feel something is gotta come soon. At least I'm getting the writing urge back; I'd better since I've got oodles of transcribing to do. My backup external harddrive was a victim of the desktop calamity so neither is a source of regaining my works. Only the dreaded but luckily still on hand floppy diskettes (!) have copies so keeping my fingers crossed that those are salvageable. Happy that Sanctuary has been renewed - love ya, Amanda and crew; but drat that they knocked off Ashley. What a cool mom and daughter duet. OK with Stargate Universe so far; it seems to be getting better as it goes on. But not in love yet. Sorry, thumbs down on Caprica. Downer that the SG movies are truely done away; I get the "economics sucks now" reasoning but feel they should have gotten them off the ground way sooner. National economy not withstanding, the actors have their own economies to worry about, and had to move to other works. Here's hoping SYFY can weather this new order again; I really don't want the manic madness if they cancelled Eureka! or Warehouse 13. New guilty pleasure: Durham County; brrr, and ulp it's dark! Ok, then. Off to RL and sleep! I'll be up and posting and reviewing like days of old, soon oh soon. 7LB Author's entry 3/22/09: Keeping hope alive, indeed! The bug is more persistent than my poor geeks realized so I'm still in limbo. I still get email at a new address but its temporary. Fortunately a new computer has arrived but I'm advised to hold the internet connection until the old one is fully scrubbed or fixed. Gah, getting way too backlogged. And talk about a loosening of writer's block: try not having access to your usual writing outlet and see how many ideas your head gets flooded with! Well, lots of transcribing coming up but it will all be ok. It will. It will. 7LB Author's entry 1/20/09: Happy New Year to all. Mine has started a bit on the downside. My computer's been hijacked so I had to temporarily cancel my email till the situation is under control. I'll keep checking here for any reviews. Thanks in advance for any who favorite me or put me on their author alert list. I'm still writing and hope to be posting again soon. - 7LB Author's entry 7/19/08: Whew: Don't know what I did wrong with Whimsy: If Only; only one nice reader reviewed the last chapter! Might have to work on my Jack-characterizing, or stick to writing Sam. Pity; love to know what I'm not getting right (I know, I know; boo hoo, poor neglected writer me? So not.). Then again, it's summer and reviewership seems to be lower across the stories anyway. Here's to saluting whoever can help me out here. The sequel may not be necessary, I suppose. On to the next project. - 7LB Author's entry 7/7/08: Just completed the main portion of Whimsy: If Only, sequel with Jack's experience on the playful planet. The epilogue is proofing, hopefully up by the weekend. A little disappointed in the low reviews but then I guess it's not for everyone. Just hope whoever is reading but can't review at least has fun with it! - 7LB Author's entry 6/02/08: Wow, been a rough road in RL; just found out that my job in a well-known, now defunct banking house is going to continue. After weeks of uncertainty I now know I don't have to look for work for the near future. Takes a load off the angst but it's left me mentally mushed, and thereby lies the tale of my woeful backlog in writing. As if my sluggish Muse needs more reasons for slacking off! With things settling down a bit I hope to post the sequel to Whimsy, which will feature Jack this time. Having fun writing it and hope you readers will, too. Till then, see ya around the /Gateworld Board. - 7LB Author's entry 3/16/08: Still trying to kick-start my petulant muse. I'm grateful for the readers who are swellling my stats. I'd really love to hear from you who read the stories. Maybe my muse feels unappreciated? Don't know but maybe! Working on short fics to be posted as part of luring the writer-me back to the grind. Wish me luck! Author's entry 10/11/07: Yuck, recovering from a nasty bug that grabbed me by the throat and just threw me on my back for two days. So bad, I couldn't muster the energy to sit at the computer and write, read or review - sheer torture I say! Back upright and ready. Many thanks to those who've recently added me to their fave authors' list and fave story lists. I hope you also have a moment to review the stories you liked; it helps to know what grabbed you and well, what didn't. Working on the next story, hope to be posting again by December holidays (but don't be shocked if totally unlisted stories pop up, as some plot bunnies will not be denied!). I can't wait till they're done so my muse can pelter me with new ideas! Ciao, all. - 7LB Author's entry 8/16/07: Whoa, my name made it onto the nominations for Stargate Fan Awards! The story nominated was Decommissioned. My humble thanks to the nominators. With all the fan-tabulous fan fiction out there, being mentioned at all makes me quite heady. So be sure to read all the nominated stories, a great way to catch up on some memorable ones that got missed. And vote - let the writers know you how much you value the little (or big) pleasures you get from their labors of love. - 7LB Author's entry 5/13/07: Just want to pass out much deserved thanks and praise for the community for helping me finally put the completed works out. Only two 'completed' works remain, and one is in the hands of a kindly beta. So thanks, kudos and sustained applause to: dreamer one who took time from her own awards-worthy writing (Alone series, Perfect Light, etc) to help me let the ficiton 'go'; and encouraging me to trust my instincts. Luzita who also kindly offered and accepted to beta a story (and also is the author of her first fascinating SG-1 action story, Liberating Males). Thanks also to those who write their reviews for us - they help far more than just a number count; please continue to support the writers. We hear you! - 7LB Author's entry 4/23/07: Well, got my feet wet in the fanfic realm. Tough audience! Lots of readers but not so many reviewers. Guess I'll keep trying till I get something out that more people want to respond to. Love the reviews I've received, they keep me on my mark with the story. That works for writers, by the way; sometimes a reader catches something off with a character, a setting, or asks a simple question. Then the writer has to review his/her work and things could possibly change for the better! Interactive fanfiction, gotta love it! Ok, so I'm editing another piece to get beta'd and on the boards post haste. Thanks all who enjoy fanfic, and extra thanks to those who talk back to the writer. - 7LB Wow, can’t believe I’m taking my first step to actually putting out SG fiction! Just a step, though. I love reading SG1 fan fiction. The best ones have kept me in such good reading that I haven’t read much else for a good while. Of course, the sad fact that SG1 is slated to go off the air as a series makes good reading so precious about now. I'm a Sam/Jack shipper (it's canon, FCOL!) and Samantha "Sam" Carter is my favorite. Anyhow, my own fiction is just, well just sitting around, percolating, marinating…Ok just plain sitting. Finished pieces are ready for beta-ing or just the noive to put them out there. I just keep writing, taking on plot bunnies left and right until they mature. And another one comes along and there I go again. So, I’m going to list my labors mainly to remind myself that they are there, and maybe a kindly soul will prod me by offering to beta. Or I just grow tired of them taking up byte space. So here they are: Completed and Posted: "V-DAY": Rating starts out K, rises to T for others. (Wrote these for Gateworld’s Sam/Jack Ship Day earlier in 2006). "Decommissioned": Rated T. (Nominated for Stargate Fan Award 2007.) "Cracks": Tag to 'Counterstrike' – Rated K. "Bonds": Epilogue to Cracks. Sam visits Vala. Rated K. "Deliberate Speed": Rated K. "Another Moment": (SG Atlantis) Tag to "The Real World" - Rated K. In progress are: "The Diva Mission": Routine meet and greet goes awry: SG-1 is stranded in a female governed society and Sam is the key to their release. But Sam is no longer quite herself anymore. She is instead the society’s alpha female and designated the Master of her teammates. Can Sam shake the mysterious force that slowly binds her to the planet and that threatens SG-1 and earth as well? Rated T. "Revenant": Sam is captured by Ba’al; nothing good happens. But Ba’al finds he has really underestimated his captive. I surprised myself with this one! A Sam – whump tale. Warning: BAD stuff happens. Rated T. "Legend": Prophecies and dragons and slayers, oh my! Who knew watching the History Channel’s “Quest for Dragons” would inspire an SG-1 story? Rated K so far. "GGoSGC: U R Pranked, Square!": The Geek Girls (GGs) of the SGC (female scientists) signal they are all earthside again with an opening prank, then a night out. But a certain new Lt. Col. Cameron Mitchell learns how not to piss off female scientists, and his fellows on base know better than to try to help him...Rated K. "Resurgence": AU take on 'Beneath the Surface': SG-1 arrives on an ice-age planet through a long buried Stargate, causing the ruins to collapse around them. They are rescued and mind-stamped with new memories to serve a stressed populace. But some things just can't be erased. Rated T. "Mirror Effect": Double trouble when an aquatic race with a bone to pick with their former Goa'uld masters captures Sam. A Sam-whump tale ( I think I kinda like those, naughty me!). Rated T. Wonder of wonders, two stories actually archived at Gateworld: "Right Maneuvers": Cassie is being stalked! Sam enlists her SG-1 teammates, Daniel and Teal’c, but long missing Gen. Jack O’Neill shows up, and well, stuff happens. Fluff alert: HIGH! Rated K. "A Moment": (SG Atlantis) - Elizabeth visits Ronin after his surgery. A ficlit. Tag to 'The Long Goodbye'. POSTED on . I try to review everything I read here not only 'cause the writers' efforts deserve it. It's also a way to - ta DA!- keep writing even when my own efforts are stonewalled! Sort of a thank you to the writers who did get their stuff out, which helps me keep putting pen to paper (ok, finger to keyboard) in a productive way. Ok, what else is there besides my love of SG-1 fan fiction? Beats me. But there is my 9 to 5 in NYC. Love spending multi-bucks on my amateur photography hobby (see Photobucket: TravelerEnroute1 for a few). Sci-fi is my lifelong favorite reading and film genre. I attended one SG-1 convention last year (2005) in Secaucus, NJ; did the first NYC Comic Con in February 2006, signing up to attend in 2007 (hey, it’s just car fare for me!). Oh, and I usually trod the BB at Gateworld (the most), Stargate Intel and Stargate Omega as Traveler Enroute1. Huh, long profile; will edit eventually. |
