Author has written 1 story for Ronin Warriors.
Last year was an incredibly difficult time for my family.
We lost my father, who had just turned 65, on July 6, 2013, after he had a reaction to heparin (which he'd had before, with no complications whatsoever) while recovering from a blood infection.
Less than two months later, my precious son Landen (who has been battling leukemia for the last two years) relapsed for the second time. We resumed chemotherapy and started planning for a bone marrow transplant (he had two potential donor matches in the registry) when he passed away suddenly on August 31st... twelve days before his fifth birthday.
Honestly, there are days when I wonder why I still wake up every morning.
I don't watch much television anymore, so books and fan fiction have become a much-needed distraction when I need to get out of my head and into someone else's. Thank you all for giving me that opportunity. As insane as some of your stories are (in a good way!), they're actually helping to save my sanity.
I haven't actually given up on writing (quite the opposite, in fact)... but until I finally finish something, I won't be posting any of my work here.
* A Tale Untold (a Pokemon fic)
Oddly enough, A Tale Untold got its start as a forum roleplay, but it went unfinished when the forum shut down. One day a friend and I were lamenting over its untimely demise when I suggested that it be rewritten as a fanfic to give it a proper ending... and he said "DO IT." Thus, ATU is in the process of being made over fanfic-style and will eventually be posted here.
* Prophecy (a Ronin Warriors fic)
I actually started writing Prophecy in high school. Freaking high school, if you can even imagine. It's still one of my favorite in-my-head stories, and one day I am going to go back and finally finish the damn thing. Preferably before my muse decides to drop-kick me into the middle of next century.
I am twenty-seven years old and have been dubbed "The Empress of Yay" by my best friend forever.
I'm also a single mom. I have one extremely adorable son named Landen (nicknamed "Bug"), who is four. He was diagnosed with cancer (specifically: a type of leukemia called AML) when he was just two years old, and we have spent waaaaay too much time in the hospital lately... but he's a trooper and he's doing great!
Landen has a CaringBridge page (www.caringbridge.org/visit/LandenBug), if you guys want to read about his fight.
Now, taking a short break from the seriosity of life... I love to read. My bookshelves are overflowing with books, manga, and even a couple of anime DVDs (leftover from a time when I could afford to buy them instead of subscribing to Crunchyroll).
I also love to roleplay, although my best friend (and preferred partner in crime) has pretty much ruined me for roleplaying with others. One of these days we're going to break down and write a book or two--god knows, after almost a decade of crazy writing adventures we certainly have enough material! (And damn, it is such a good thing that our characters aren't real, or they'd have definitely murdered us for all of the crap we've put them through...)
That aside... I've been reading and writing fan fiction since I was twelve, and original fiction for longer than that. Most of my old work is gone, gone, gone, but it's still fun (and cringe-inducing) to read the bits that have survived the trash can (and computer crashes) over the years. Good times. XD
I am also an artist--mostly for fun, but I've also started taking on a few small commissions, which is very cool. Getting paid to do something I love is a great feeling.

In the meantime, if anyone wants to contact me I can be found on deviantART (linked above) or you can hunt me down on AIM (ladykadri). You're welcome to message me here, but I log in so sporadically that any PMs I get may go unnoticed for obscene amounts of time. Sorry... I think FFN is supposed to send out notification emails for PMs now, so I promise to make more of an effort from now on. >_>
