Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the profile of Mc5TenforTwo. I'm sure you have some questions, and the one I'm asked most often is "What's your pen name about?" Well, let's put it this way...the MC5 were a band back in the Sixties and Seventies. They were managed by a poet and radical political activist named John Sinclair, who was sentenced to ten years in prison for selling two marijuana joints to an undercover police officer. A benefit concert called Ten for Two was held which attracted such celebrities as John Lennon and Stevie Wonder, in addition (of course) to the MC5 and other such bands, to the cause of getting this unfair prison sentence reduced. A few days later, Sinclair was released. So my pen name is basically a tribute to good loud hardcore rock music, and justice for those unfairly treated. (Why yes, I'm a liberal. Not of any extremely liberal persuasion, I guess, but I'm liberal enough.)
There used to be a few pieces of mine here, all of which seemed great at the time and most of which were dreadful in retrospect. After re-reading all of my work here, I found it very derivative and un-original and as such have removed all of it, including the older update dating from 2006 and most of the original substance of my profile page. But just because I haven't written a story, doesn't mean I haven't been here, lurking, re-reading old favorites, and discovering new ones. Those who loved the stories originally posted here (particularly the very kind people who enjoyed my fan screen adaptation of Rent) will be glad to know that I have more up to date, and in my opinion stronger, drafts of such material (I speak in particular of Rent) now posted on my profile.
So let me cut to the punch line: All the stories are GONE. Kaput, finito, in the delete bin. I'm basically not here at the moment, but if I write a little drabble worth posting in a particular genre, it'll go here, and I am definitely open to suggestions and constructive criticism. I have instant messenger, but I only hand out that info by PM. Get to know me, or check out my Facebook! ("Homepage" link.) And in the words of the Valley Girl pothole in that commercial, "'Kay, bye!"
