Author has written 2 stories for RWBY. Blanket Disclaimer I don't own anything. It's called fanfiction for a reason. On a side note, don't copy and paste fics. It's incredibly poor form for purveyors of art of any kind. Completed Works Artificer Book 1 (First entry in the Loreverse Chronology, Chapters 1 to 39 of ARTIFICER) Guardians of the Unknowing (Second entry in the Loreverse Chronology, Book 1 of the Dubious Isekai Spinoffs, Chapters 1 to 26) About Me Hello, all. Eretein here. I'm a novelist dabbling in fanfiction mainly as a hobby. I have a preference for OC-centric fics with strong focus on character interactions and character development. My goal in this site is to improve my craft, aiming to consistently produce better entries and learn some new stuff (since all my fics are forays into experimental story-telling). Check out my fics if you're interested for some short, sweet, and to the point reads—fast-paced stories that don't ask a lot of your time and commitment. I accept (love) reviews and they're appreciated. I also consider beta-reading requests. Please go to my beta-reader profile and leave a message. Cheers, Eretein Published 1) Artificer (RWBY, Adventure/Romance) [Entry #1 in the Loreverse Chronology] Weiss Schnee. Corporate heiress, world-renowned singer, and full-time huntress-in-training. Nexus Shade. Orphaned faunus, anonymous thief, and part-time huntsman-in-training. A chance partnership between heiress and thief turns into something more. An escape from their dreary, everyday lives. But will their differences tear them apart? Or will the thief's past finally catch up? Artificer is a pet project of mine, a fic that's been chilling in my phone since 2017. It's a story told from the point of view of my OC, Nexus Shade, but Artificer isn't just his tale. It's also the story of Weiss and a lot of other characters. There's AU-ness due to my constant attempts at making things make sense in context, but Artificer's cast is still composed of the characters that we know and love—just reworked for a breath of fresh air. Check it out, if you're interested in a four-book series—all volumes of canon trimmed into four, 'cause you know you want it—where characters evolve in unexpected ways and the laws of Physics actually exist. Status: Book 1 Complete! Books 2–4 in-progress! Book 2 is currently around 5 chapters away from being finished... 2) Guardians of the Unknowing (RWBY, Fantasy/Parody) [Entry #2 in the Loreverse Chronology] I died and got inducted into the Guardians: an organization of Gamers tasked to protect the multiverse. Fresh-faced and thrust into the heart of crisis, with an infinity war threatening all of existence, cosmic horrors lurking in shadowy places, a mysterious huntress who somehow broke time, and me having to live life (again) as a bumbling, blond dork—what could possibly go wrong? A Gamer-fic, Jaune-fic, and an OC-fic all rolled into one humorous story complete with its serious and almost-too-comical moments. Features The Guide imported from Terraria, The Cosmos imported from who knows where, along with a technically-female-but-in-a-male-body protagonist that snarks on everything including herself (The Snark Knight TM) and reluctantly plays sword and board with the entire RWBY cast across the endless multiverse. The poor Guardian's also paired up with a bubbly Chuunibyou who calls herself the Heroine and the witch queen of some darkstorm galaxy and a lot of other long-ass titles. Guardians is the quirky sister to Artificer but standalone in its own right, with cameos from all over the place. Yes, this is a silly tongue-in-cheek commentary (read: Affectionate Parody) on a lot of rampant sub-genres in fanfiction and in particular, RWBY, so don't take it too seriously. Status: Complete! God damn, it was a wild ride! To Be Published 1) Dirthara-ma (Dragon Age, Fantasy/Romance) [Entry #4 in the Loreverse Chronology] Formerly known as "Today I Saw The Whole World" while in its drafting phases. Now its true There be no heroes here, folks. Only a mage and the voice in her head, her questionable goals for the future, and a lot of hitchhiking across Thedas. A tale told through the eyes of a modern-age woman, reborn as a princess of the Imperium. Dirthara-ma is a Romance/Fantasy Dragon Age fanfic that runs before Origins and goes up to Trespasser and beyond. It's a direct sequel to Guardians of the Unknowing, but reading Guardians isn't necessary. Watch out for Dirthara-ma, if you're interested in multiversal hi-jinks and magical party tricks, courtesy of our flippant, few-screws-loose, Progress: Currently in the works... 2) Maiden (RWBY, Adventure/(Dark) Fantasy) [Entry #5 in the Loreverse Chronology] Remnant lies broken, the four kingdoms swept away by a flood of darkness. A decade after the fall, a group of children discovers a relic of the past. A guiding light through a desolate world. The choice and the knowledge. A quest to end all quests. One last hurrah to mend their shattered future. Maiden is a pseudo-sequel to Artificer. A what-if story. It features a lovable cast of children characters plus some old faces and a lot of other stuff. Watch out for Maiden if you like Artificer and would like to see what happens in a future alternate universe in the same vein as comic-book spin-offs. Maiden is also a direct prequel to Guardians of the Unknowing, but the tone's so far off you can't tell. Beware of tonal whiplash if you're coming from Guardians and not Artificer. 3) Knightess (RWBY, Adventure/Fantasy) [Entry #6 in the Loreverse Chronology] Amariss Shade. A bard wandering Remnant's frontier, singing tales of whimsy by day and dreaming of sunshine by night. A brush with a scrupulous pair of thieves whisks her away from the only life she knows—and into a quest of gods, wizards, and monsters, all vying for the uncontested right to decide the fate of her world. Knightess is the prequel to Artificer, featuring Team STRQ in their glory days. It's told from the eyes of Amariss Shade, an OC, and it features some other characters like Willow, Jacques and more teenaged adults. Watch out for this one if you like Artificer and would like to see how our charming cast evolved into their jaded, adult selves. Consider this one a direct prequel to Artificer. 4) Ebonfang (Skyrim, Fantasy/Romance) [Entry #7 in the Loreverse Chronology] Vampires. Creatures of the dark. Bloodsuckers. No one knows vamps better than Elric Moonstar. His home and family destroyed, his life taken from him, he'll stop at nothing to see them burn. Yet what happens when he meets Serana Volkihar—a vamp who isn't quite everything he hates? Caught in a war between vampires and the living, the duo must quest to save Nirn from eternal night. Ebonfang is the sequel to Dirtharama. It's set in Skyrim instead of Thedas, telling an admittedly cliched romance between everyone's favourite sleepyhead—Serana—and Elric Moonstar—an OC whose edgy backstory and motivations hearken back to Artificer, Maiden, and Knightess. You know, the good ol' RWBY trilogy. Stuff that's been mocked to death by the black sheep of my portfolio, the one who dares to be something different: Guardians of the Unknowing. Anyway, I'll probably get around to publishing Ebonfang by 2030 or something. But hey. Good news. That means it's gonna hit the shelves before TES6 does. 5) Unyielding Wish (Fate Stay/Night, Fantasy/Romance) [Entry #8 in the Loreverse Chronology] The Fuyuki Grail War. A contest between seven heroes of legend. To the victor, the Holy Grail, one wish to change the world. Sakura Matou is destined to die, forgotten, rejected by the light. Mired in darkness, she seeks to avert her fate, and cries out to the void. An archer in white heeds her call. Unyielding Wish is the next entry after Ebonfang, and is best enjoyed after reading all the previous entries. If I had a penny whenever a meek, purple-haired girl with deep-seated trauma starred as the protagonist in my works, I'd have two. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice. Fleur from Andromeda says hi. Anyway, I probably gave the twist away in the first sentence. The twist is that every Servant in Unyielding Wish is a character, a hero or villain, that appeared somewhere in the entire Loreverse Chronology. Real ones already know who the archer in white is. Watch out for Unyielding Wish if you like gratuitous fight scenes and dark, edgy monologues that harken back to the 2000s. Oh, and the Fate franchise of course. Other Works 1) Andromeda (Fire Emblem, Fangame/Romhack) [Entry #3 in the Loreverse Chronology] Even the brightest of lights must wane into darkness… In the wake of a calamity, a priestess of Naga embarks to deliver a sacred tome back to her homeland. Joined by comrades new and old, the journey takes her across the continent of Andromeda, into a collision course with men, monsters, and eventually gods… just how far will you go to preserve what you hold dear? A Fire Emblem romhack/fangame that I published over at feuniverse(.)us. Set in the titular continent, Andromeda, the game's story revolves around a post-Awakening Lucina years after her unpaired ending ("Yours will be a happy future."). She's joined by an ensemble cast and dragged into another quest to save the world, as all retired heroines do. The gameplay is inspired by Dark Souls so it isn't your traditional Fire Emblem romp at all. Feel free to check it out. Status: 11 playable chapters! The First Act is live! |
