Author has written 30 stories for House, M.D., West Wing, and Supernatural. Personal Bio: I'm a stressed out, burned out working mother of two from the Buckeye State that uses writing as a vice to escape the reality of life... Okay, my life is not that desperate, but it sounded good. My day job is technical, so writing completes the whole "right brain/left brain" thing. My only hope is to one day be as good at writing as I am with databases. My favorite shows are The West Wing, House, Scrubs, Heroes, Lost, name any Star Trek series (can't write fan fic there though, you need a doctorate to wade through all the continuity issues), and the Simpsons. My complete obsession is Supernatural. I found this show by accident while trying out a DVD from Netflix. I challenge anyone who has never seen this show (which I'm sure is a ton of you since it's on the crappy CW network), to get the very first DVD from season 1 and watch the first four episodes. If you aren't hooked by then, go on. I was hooked by episode 4 (okay episode 1 really) and ended up rushing out to the local Target store and buying Season 1 and 2 on DVD. I've gone through those seasons twice now, and will probably do it again now that the writer's strike has reduced season 3 to twelve episodes. Fan Fiction: I've really gained quite an audience on this site since I started writing in March 2006. Most of my writing is for House, but I did finally complete one for my all time favorite show, The West Wing. Currently, although rather infrequently, I'm writing fan fics for Supernatural. I seem to like writing ones where Sam is in deep peril, although season seven inspired me to write some "fill in the blanks" stories. There were plenty of blanks! For House, most of my stories focus on Chase just because he is the character I understand the most, but I also love to show how everyone works (or doesn't) together as a team and how they react to different situations. My stories feature secondary characters since House is so well done on the show. They don't need my help there. I'm usually not one to brag, but I was writing Chase/Cameron pairing before it became canon on the show. Now that pairing is fashionable and I've got several offerings. For the West Wing, my favorite character and focus of my one and any future stories is Sam. Sorkin really failed to expand his character to maximum potential, so that is my vision. Sadly, time is a constraint. I'm currently rewatching all seven seasons of the DVD's for ideas. One of my most popular fics to date is Take the Ducklings Bowling. The story takes place after the season two finale, No Reason, and goes AU from there. It starts with a simple premise of what happens if the ducklings started to socialize and become friends. Okay, Chase and Cameron become more than friends, but there is so much more to this than a Chase/Cameron romance. Tons of comical bits involving House. The second fic continues what the first started, and it's unpredictable but just as fun as the first. The most popular is The House Assessment, written in the season two time frame, and after seeing the series end, it turns out to be prophetic! I nailed it. It is amusing character study under a rather believable premise for after season two. There are three sequels to this story, Adverse Conditions, No Matter and Not Waiting Anymore. They aren't comparable to the original, but still they were popular. - My personal favorite is After Life at PPTH. I based that story on a St. Elsewhere episode I have loved for years and always wanted to do something more with it. A premise in the House fanfic realm finally gave me that opportunity. This story isn't for everyone because it heavily focuses on Catholic religious themes, but the original story went that way so I stuck with it. This is a major Chase angst fic and offers two endings. I have gotten split reviews on which ending was best. I love this premise so much, I wrote a Supernatural fic using it with dramatically different results. That one is Hamistagan. - Another favorite is You Came Back. I wrote this immediately after the season three finale, inspired by the final Chase/Cameron scene. It's cutesy and fun, and the response was huge. Thanks to everyone that have read my stories and sent wonderful reviews and comments. I never realized when I started this how far it would go. |
