I am alive! I've just not been writing for a while. Every so often I will feel the urge, look through my old content and want to write but the writer's block has been strong. I've been suffering for years now with poor health and have had a child during my hiatus too so writing hasn't been a priority. I'm hopeful that I will return to writing at some point whenever my fickle muses so bless me with inspiration and skill, but I can make no guarantees on when that is. I shall try to update my website (link at bottom of bio) more regularly but for regular fandom stuff I am on twitter and instagram @rachelcabbit, @rachelcabbit on Facebook and I also am migrating a lot of content to Ao3 (yet again, RachelCabbit) Message me if you want to discuss anything about my work or just want to chat fandom stuff.

Notes:

I usually go by my obsessions, so whatever I am currently obsessed with, I probably have a few ideas floating around for fanfiction. It often means that any ongoing stories whose fandom I am not currently obsessed with usually aren't being worked on, which is a shame for anyone following those stories. So, to avoid disappointing people, I have promised myself that from 2010 onwards I will never upload something I don't think I can finish.

I prefer to write one-shots as I change favourite fandoms so much that there is no guarantee of completing a multi-chaptered fic. I have many, many plans that range from full chapter-by-chapter synopsis to short outlines and even just one sentence prompts, and eventually, I will work some sort of magic and get down to writing them all.

Though I may be slow at updating and uploads may be scarce, I can pretty much guarantee I will always be working on something. It will usually be either a Bulma x Vegeta fanfiction, due to it being my first OTP, but also I'm so obsessed with Hey Arnold! that Arnold and Helga are fast becoming my most-written-about couple! I have many more Hey Arnold! fics in the works than Dragonball Z at the moment! Biggest obsessions at present are Pride and Prejudice and Star Wars (Reylo) so expect something eventually from those fandoms!

Things I write about or will be likely to write about.

As I mentioned above, I always have ideas for Bulma and Vegeta (Dragonball Z) and Helga x Arnold (Hey Arnold!) but I have many other fandoms I love, so may be tempted to write for them. These include:

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen - my favorite book. I adore Lizzy and Darcy so if I am in a particularly ambitious or inspired mood I may attempt to write fansfics for that. In fact, I have completed the drabbleday challenge with Lizzy and Darcy, in my story Fragments.

Cardcaptor Sakura anime - Back when I first got into writing fanfic, I began writing some Cardcaptor Sakura multi-chapter fics. After reading a ton of existing fanfiction, I did pick up some bad habits, such as making Syaoran into Mr Playboy with no real reasoning. As that seem to be prolific in the fandom, I didn't get called out on it exactly, but still, I feel bad about it. I did write the fics when I was 15, and new to it all. I'd hope my style has improved since then. I certainly feel more experience. All 3 are multi-chapter but unfinished, and as my style is different now, I doubt I will finish them unless I rewrite them afresh. These fics are Sixteen Going On Twenty Two, That's Show Business and Solitary Man.

Avatar: The Last Airbender cartoon - I am a Zutarian. Which is weird, as my first fanfic in this fandom was a fluffy Kataang fic. Reinvention was a challenge to myself, to prove I could do a drabble about a pairing I'm not actually into. I do have plans for some Zutara fics though.

Hana Yori Dango anime/manga/drama - My favourite shoujo series ever! I have so many ideas for this fandom, but nothing as yet written.

Titanic - The film by James Cameron is one of my guilty pleasures, and I did get some oneshot ideas from it. Not sure if I will write in the fandom anymore, but that said, I haven't seen the film in a while and maybe, just maybe, some ideas will be inspired by further viewing. My oneshots for this fandom are If You Would Not Deny Me and Without Rose.

Star Wars - REYLO - For the past 5 years I've been very heavily into the Star Wars fandom, with a focus on the sequel trilogy and Reylo. While I've yet to write anything for this time, the urge to do so is strong!

As you can see, I am a long way off completing them and due to lack of activity, it is no longer official. But I will probably get back to it eventually.

I have written for the Dragonball 20_facts community, 20_adventures with the pairing of Bulma and Vegeta. The fanfic is Mysteries of Love.

I did the drabbleday Challenge with Pride and Prejudice, and the pairing of Elizabeth Bennett and Fitzwilliam Darcy, with my fic Fragments. One chapter was written each day over the course of a week. One prompt per chapter.

I took part in NaNoWriMo 2010, an attempt at writing my first 50,000 word plus fanfic. It's from the Hey Arnold! fandom, and is my own interpretation of The Jungle Movie story, but I only made it as far as 28,000 words due to my university deciding that November 30th looked like a good date for deadlines and I had a tonne of work to do. Plus I had a part-time job too, so I ended up not writing as much as I wanted to. I continued this story in NaNoWriMo 2011 but wrote even fewer words that time around due to my new full-time job and the stresses involved. I think I wrote about 25,000 words and made decent enough progress in the story but it isn't finished.

Stolen Glances, Hidden Words

I'm also taking part in the 100Tri_drabbles Challenge with my Hey Arnold! story Stolen Glances, Hidden Words- each chapter being 300 words long and based on a prompt from the challenge. Not that I am promising all 100 tri-drabble prompts will be used in that story! I'm not entirely sure how many will be used before I draw it to a close. There may be other smaller collection of tri-drabbles to come though.

Stolen Glances, Hidden Words is on a sort-of hiatus at the moment. I hope to get back to it soon. All info on updates will appear on my website.
